This is standard maga strategy.
They make a blatant easily proven wrong lie, then repeat it constantly.
It has been disproven over and over and the same people keep repeating it.
It's much more than a "lesser of two evils situation."
It would be a major achievement if the USA finally elected a female president.
The fact she's running against a geriatric criminal and rapist should make the choice a no-brainer.

Presidents have the Vice Presidents around as advisors, but rarely do they get to make decisions. They are not officially in charge of anything the president has under his command, not even equal to the level of a cabinet member like the Secretary of Defense or Transportation etc would. Basically they exist like a spare tire: use only if the main one gets blown out.
Vice-presidents do not really have important jobs, just "look busy" kind of stuff. The border issue is really the job of whichever of the Secretary of Homeland Security or Interior or Attorney General (etc.) is actually responsible for it. They make the policies and / or carry them out, subject to the president (not vice president's) orders.
However, the actually important job the US Vice-president has had recently is being the tie-breaking vote in the US Senate when that's needed, and that is something Harris has actually been doing while serving as VP. That power only gets used when legislation in the Senate is split 50/50, as it has been recently. If the seats were like 57-43 or something, the VP would not even have that job to do.
The GOP is MAGA now anyway. The few members who want the rhetoric toned down are merely asking for it not to be so open or obvious.
Asking the MAGAs to tone down the racist chatter & memes is like having a biker party at your house but demanding that the guests use doilies under their drinks.

It would be a surprise, more than an achievement. I won't make any prediction based on "should be" logic, considering they are an electorate that bungled the choice it at 3 times in the last quarter-century.
I think the best odds of Harris actually getting there are if her campaign just zips their lips about that part. Keep it within the realm of "character matters, competence matters, judgement matters, but sociological side-quests do not matter".
Still a crap-shoot though, even if the battle is no longer crusty vs clown.

She had to drop out of the Democratic primary when it became obvious that nobody was interested in her.
She got her foot in the door of California politics by hooking up with sixty year old Willie Brown.
Even though she was unaccomplished and unknown, Willie rewarded her with a cushy well paid patronage job.
This is all well known, not some crazy right wing "disinformation".
Her bumbling incompetence is on par with her former boss, sleepy Joe.
She has accomplished nothing as Vice President.
She's a scheming, clownish grifter.

I have a terrible feeling for The Republicans now. Same as when the Panthers scored the 1st goal in game 7, I knew it was over. The Oilers were never really in it after that goal. Same now, You can't get away from this woke, love fest Harris is on. Its just incredible what happened. I got a pretty good 6th sense about these things.
