looks like the whole plan was to get Zelensky in a room and bully him into signing something just takes advantage of Ukraine.... as i suggested, Trump is freaking out that Europe is getting prepared to offer a better "deal" that will additionally empower the EU military industrial complex using Russian money.

yeah it's time for the UK, France, Germany, the Nordic countries, get Australia too, to step up and send the proper bombs, firepower

they really need to send troops, Canada too, the few we have, beat the gas station back across the border

take out the bridge to Crimea, bomb the hell out of it, take out the Russians in Moldova

they want them out of there too, get the Georgians who oppose Putin to rebel

hit him from all sides till someone takes him out

then hope the public in the U.S. finally turns on the orange menace

make Trump look weak

Vance is just as big of a piece of shit as Trump on Ukraine, he's said so, "he couldn't give a fuck about them"

it's time to stop pretending the U.S. is the moral leader of the free world with Trump at the helm

it's time for the rest of the world, free world to act

otherwise it's going to be a long 4 years

repost from Bill King, radio host CIUT
And for the record I am not a fan of Justin Trudeau
But I put Zelenskyy at the pinnacle of leadership.

The Coward & The Hero: A Day of National Disgrace

My stomach churns. The bile rises. Never in my lifetime have I seen a more shameful, more disgraceful occupant of the White House. A man who has so thoroughly soiled the seat of power that even history recoils. A traitor. A thug. A liar. A cheat. And today, a pathetic, desperate, pantomime dictator, trying to stare down the leader of Ukraine—Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a man who has stood before death, before the smoking ruins of his homeland, and still refuses to bow.

Trump? Trump isn’t fit to lace Zelenskyy’s boots. The bloated relic of a reality show presidency, slathered in an extra layer of high-polished orange shoe polish, face glowing like a jack-o’-lantern stuffed with state secrets. He sat there playing the part of a South American strongman from the ‘50s, puffed up and empty, all bark and bluster, but no spine, no soul. He thought he could roll over a man who has lived in the trenches of war. But Zelenskyy has seen real men die. He has heard the whistle of missiles meant to tear him apart. Trump has never heard anything louder than the sound of his own mouth.

So what did the orange tyrant do? He rattled on about Hunter Biden’s laptop. In the presence of a war hero, he ranted like an unhinged lunatic about a hard drive. Idiot speak. Straightjacket talk. A man devoid of vision, reduced to the same old grievances, same old conspiracy-laced dementia, as if the fate of nations could be debated on the level of a Fox News fever dream.

And then, the jester arrived—J.D. Vance, a third-rate clown who came not to stand for anything, but to clean Trump’s boots with his lips. He sat there, all smug obedience, waiting for his cue, eager to please his master in moments of fitful rage. No dignity. No independence. Just another political parasite feeding off the rot. This was one of the most sickening displays of cowardice in American history.

And across the border, Canada’s Trudeau—so often a punching bag for American conservatives—stood tall, shoulder to shoulder with Zelenskyy, a leader among leaders. He didn’t grovel. He didn’t cower. He didn’t babble like a lunatic about emails or laptops. He stood on the right side of history.

That’s the difference. That’s the stark, gut-wrenching reality.

On one side, men of honour.
On the other, grub worms in suits.

its interesting that this lead story on the Fox News website is devoid of comments supporting Trump on this event.

Hope you're right. Russia is weak. He is nothing and the sooner the these nations you mentioned realize this the better. You don't go and invade your neighbour and when it gets tough you ask an Asian country to help out? WTF is that all about?🤣 If that's not weakness, I done know what is.

Wow.
I said before that one of the biggest problems Americans have with Trump as president is the loss of goodwill from other countries as a result of Trump's bullying tactics but even I thought that the effects would be mitigated by the incentive of access to the American market over time.
With the brazen stupidity and outright disavowal of democratic solidarity against dictatorships I think that Trump has pushed every single democratic country into complete understanding that the USA is no deserves the "Leader of the Free World" deference.
I wouldn't be surprised if the USA finds itself alone with every other democratic country solidifying their economic and political relationships and excluding the USA. It's going to be a rough realignment for everyone but when things shake out I wouldn't be surprised if the USA finds itself much much lower down on the political totem pole than they consider themselves. Think of the consequences when the USD is no longer the global base currency.
Trump is alienating USA allies. He's crippling the economy with a trade war. He's handicapping core industries by deporting their workforce. He's raping and burning the Federal services.
MAGA. Make America Go Away.

There seems to be a vacuum in the world, where democracies disappear and dictatorships rise in their place.
The dictatorships are arising due to the economic reasons. Manufacturing and jobs disappearing overseas, leaving the populace in dire straits and demands for things to be done to improve the economy. Familiar story same as in the 1920s and 1930s in Europe.

Right wing/Facist policies of centralizing economy, silencing opposition, destroying free press, Racist policies against minorities or immigrants to limit their say/rights, Isolationist tendencies and tariff inducing to exclude foreign made items or luxury items only to put more pressure on their own citizens. Lets not exclude assinations of opposition leaders.

The haves and have nots. Middle class is disappearing. Again a repeat of Europe in the 1920s where monarchies were falling and communism was on the up rise. To prevent the communism rise, the right wing went facist. Spain, Italy, and Germany.

In Britain and USA it was the capitalists which prevented communism from retaining power. At least that is how I look at it.

WW2.
After WW2 it was the cold war Russian vs USA. Communism vs Capitalism.

Is it all cyclic, and as political system change, are we going back to a feudal system where there are only haves and have nots?

In the west here we value freedom. IN the cold war, the average Russian was under duress, food rationing, shelter rationing, all while doing jobs that did not pay well. The privileged had cars and vacations in Ukraine on the Black and Caspian Seas.

In Russia a dictator rose, Putin and the Oligarths that controlled state corporations. The Oligarths were so rich they had Western Europe build them luxury yachts, which all went running back to Russia from the Mediterrean and Carribean when sanctions against Russian Oligarths happen after the invasion of Ukraine.

Today in the USA I see American Oligarths (the really rich) controlling congress and senate by contributing to political campaigns (eg Koch Brothers). The Mililtary Industrial Complex is out of control and corruption in government contracts. The Election of Trump to offset the control of congress/senate corruption. Turns out they elected a Fox to patrol the henhouse. I am sure there are jokes about inbred white folks in all those rural areas are true. Anyways KARMA will kick those American voters in the teeth soon enough with rising price of inflation due to tariffs.

HI there my friend, my apologies. I should have refrain from commenting any further . I was wrong and I lost the bet. I know we have difference of opinions on certain matters and I respect yours. I truly do. You might not agree with me again but what happened yesterday was something I can't just help myself not sharing my thoughts. As a Canadian I didn't comment on Trump plans of making my country the 51st state. I was angry but kept quiet. but yesterday was something else. USA used to stand for something that I am proud to be a part of. Again my apologies to you and to the other members here that I may have offended.

Vance and trump ganging up and engaging in a debate a guy alone who is not fluent enough in English to really convey is thoughts.

Vance stating that Ukraine needs conscription to supply their army with the man power required.... priceless when the idiot doesn't know or does not have the knowledge that the US needed to do the same to fight the Vietnam war ( population in the north below 10 million) ...maybe just the lack of shame allows him to say ridiculous things .
... and he says it sitting beside a draft dodger..

We made a bet. You honor the bet. It was not conditional. He gets it. He has commented and I accept that. A deal is a deal and he accepted the terms.
You dont get it. Nothing said in this thread is so monumental that it will have any earth shattering effect on world events and is not vital to the very existence of our country. In fact most of it is sheer comedy. Control your emotional responses. You seem to be the type of person who would be shaking someones hand with his fingers crossed behind his back.
I don't want to become part of the United States either but I have at least the common sense to realize its never actually going to happen unless we make an agreement with Russia or China to allow them to place nuclear weapons in Canada pointing south. Then we will get Ukrained. Anything else is hyperbolic nonsense and will not be done without the agreement of the entire population of Canada.

I think it’s kind of mean to hold somebody you don’t know to a year long bet. Maybe it’s because of the way I was raised. You’re grounded for a month! 2 hours later. You’ve been well behaved you can go out now. Anyways. Lighten up xox.

In my opinion you don’t have to listen to him. You’ve been well behaved you can be off grounding now 💕
