I would say that Trump has become unusually unbearable lately. Lots of people are turning off the TV to control anger. Gives a chance to go for a walk and plan how we as individuals can contribute to fucking up the big turds, directly or indirectly.

Canada was already all on board to help the US stop the threat of China and Russia etc., but now that our "allies" are deciding to backstab us (and a whole bunch of other allies), honestly, fuck helping the USA with anything. Why would we bother? Why did we ever bother?

When they asked us to expand our military lately, they did not mention it would be needed so Canada could better defend itself against them. If that is how they want to be, well Canada has never been intimidated fighting any great power before, including them.

And anyone who thinks this is just joking, trolling, or some sort of negotiation tactic is a naive fool.
Hitler spoke this way in the 1930's. Trump wants to annex us and several other things too; Elon Musk is currently trying to overthrow the UK and install a UKIP / Norsefire government. "Make 2025 1938 again !"
This is the new Axis, and the world needs to fight these assholes.

Putin wants Ukraine mineral wealth, he’s sent tens of thousands to their death in attacks on an area rich in lithium.
Trump and Musk want the minerals and oil in Canada and Greenland.
They couldn’t care less if we all drop dead, it’s all about the money to be made.

sorry i'm cross posting this from the Canada Political thread... but yeah, i agree completely.

i'd like whoever takes charge as PM to push back just as hard as Trump pushes on us.

i mean, if we are a member of NATO then how is it that we get our sovereignty threatened by a NATO ally?

i'd suggest the new PM push hard on the following. maybe most of it is bluster but its thinking outside the box:
- countries don't need to spend 2% GDP on NATO. NATO only needs a small force for "grey" area stuff. the rest is nuclear deterrence.
- if one of our "allies" is just going to bully us then we don't need to be an ally. drop from NATO and use the money we save to produce our own nuclear deterrent.
- if one of our "allies" in NAFTA is going to bully us then we join the European Union... or BRICS. whatever.

Yup. Buy some nukes from the UK and France in the meantime, then use our uranium and perhaps some outside help to start churning out an arsenal that is ours alone.

And here's a hint for Trump - they will all be aimed south. Big ones, aimed at major cities, not just little tactical ones for Mar A Lago and burning down the White House a second time.
You wanna play the "destroy your country and people" game? In any conflict like that, Canada is going to throw out all the Geneva Suggestions.

But let's first hold the other NATO members' feet to the fire, and remind them an attack on one is an attack on all.

Simple Rule: Follow the money.
You are exactly correct; the only way they benefit from any of this is via the oil and mineral rights.
Weren't there 2 recently discovered oil fields in the Ukraine, one being in the east and the other in the west that Exxon was supposed to develop ?

Context is in the post I replied to. He is suggesting Trump favors uneduacted because they dont know about reality and facts. So my text is saying people preferred by other party has this problem and not related to education.
I recommed reading comments in the context, reading individual random comment will not make any sense.
