Still not able to cope ? The man won the popular vote!! All 7 swing states too.

3 months later I can still feel the tears on perb

He got more popular after the NY trails. Lol
Whatever helps you sleep better, while supporting an incompetent, criminal, racist, pedophile, rapist, felon, the most failed economic president on record, and the world's most documented liar, as you laugh at people with actual morals and standards.

Lol, I'm not going to argue with you, as even you posted - the US, bound by law, remained neutral throughout world war two, until attacked by Japan. This isn't a matter of opinion, it's a legal fact of law. That was the explicitly publicly declared and official position of the United States to the entire world.
Care to include sources for these "laws" that "bound" America to remain neutral? I mean since it's a "legal fact of law"?

An "explicitly publicly declared and official position of the United States to the entire world." ? Source? Link? Anything?

Your opinion of America's support of the war before having 'boots on the ground' is just an opinion which isn't supported by historical fact.

One thing to note about the era is that it was still congress who controlled if the country went to war....there werent the same level of workarounds that are used today.

You mean like how Trump campaigned on locking up Hilary Clinton, for... Reasons??

It's not like he didn't have the most criminally convicted presidential campaign staff in all history, and it's not like he didn't inspire a treasonous insurrection that got hundreds of people convicted. And it's not like he hasn't been sued thousands of times, typically for not paying the people he said he would. It's not like he wasn't convicted of rape, and any other numerous number of crimes. But yes, this one is totally all a sham, also because of unspecified and nonsensical reasons.

I swear that Trump is a litmus test for the most guilible people in the world.

Those laws were the neutrality acts of 1935 and 1937 as the Americans did not want to be dragged into another European conflict as they were still going through the struggles from the big depression.

But FDR was able to have a running tab going for England as he must have a good sense of Hitler goals .... maybe even report from former president Herbert Hoover who had met Hitler. Back then former presidents were seen as an asset instead of being tossed aside.

The US was still doing business with Germany but leaned their manufacturing power toward the UK in a big way .

I would say that you and VanCityNewb are both right as the Brits were quite restricted in their purchases.... That's when Canada most likely was of help to bypass certain restrictions through subsidiaries for critical technology as they had to innovate so much during the war. I recall a story that to bypass the neutrality acts planes would land in Montana, get a civilian to take over , pull the plane with horses to an airfield in Alberta , hand the plane over to a RCAF official and a pilot would fly it back east on its way to the UK.

He swept the flip states !

Landslide has a nice ring in certain medias and political rhetoric but 1.4 million votes over Kamala Harris is no landslide. LBJ vs Goldwater , Nixon vs McGovern, FDR, Lincoln, Reagan vs Carter won by landslides in terms of votes and grand electors not trump.

As for the rest ... it's your opinion
In case you don’t know, the popular vote does not matter in US Presidential elections. Trump won 43% more Electoral Collage votes than Harris and all the swing states. That is a landslide!
All the Trump haters here is amazing! The vast majority of you don’t live in the US, so who cares? That is unless you know how much his stated policies will affect your tax and social programs. Most of the world has their panties in a bunch over Trump’s America first agenda. Doesn't the haters want Canadian leaders to look after Canada before all others? This is what happens when countries rely on one other country to support their way of life. You should be angry at your politicians for placing you in this position. They sold Canadian voters a sack of rocks with promises of socialism. Look at California, the most socialist state in America and the 5th largest economy in the world. It is running a 30 billion dollar deficit and it is a total mess. The more money they get, the more they spend. It is impossible to run a business like that. If it wasn’t for the tech industry, it would probably look like a third world country, but Newsom gives free stuff away like it’s…….free. Your elections are in March and it may be wise to boot out socialist politicians. While your at it, tell the power brokers to support NATO with 5% of your GDP.

So why do you care so much what others think? Or where they live? Or that they want to live their lives differently from the fascists that you suck so hard on to make your pitiful life slightly less worthless than it already is -- and on an escort review board, no less! Did you get banned everywhere else in the world for spouting this nonsense?

Nobody cares what you think or what you want.

Look at what historical presidential wins look like and will talk . Opinion vs Facts .
Trump because of the US archaic electoral college was able to win 56.9% of the electoral college vs 43.1% but he won that by edging Kamala Harris with 1.5% extra vote .

Again historically not significant compare to the average presidential elections since 1788/89 , it's even on the lower end in terms of majority with the grand electors.

For someone emotionally invested as you are I can see the appeal to call it that way as all the conservative medias call it a " landslide ".

There’s a special kind of madness in America these days—a high-octane, batshit insanity powered by MAGA hats, grievance, and cheap vodka. And at the epicenter of this lunacy, like a lightning rod attracting the worst our country has to offer, stands Michael Fanone, the former cop who dared to call Donald Trump an authoritarian to his face. For his trouble, Fanone was beaten nearly to death with a flagpole on January 6, 2021, only to watch as Trump’s cultists were welcomed back into polite society with open arms, presidential pardons, and the smug satisfaction of knowing their crimes had been wiped clean by the stroke of a pen.

This is no ordinary story of political dysfunction. No, this is an obscene carnival of cowardice, starring a former president who should be pacing around a cell but instead plays golf and whines on Truth Social. The aftermath of January 6th has turned into a grotesque sitcom with a laugh track straight out of hell. And Fanone? He’s the guy left holding the flaming bag of shit—literally.

Before we get to the pardons, let’s talk about Fanone’s mom. A 78-year-old woman minding her own business in Virginia became the target of a campaign of terror so vile it would make your stomach turn. First, some jackass decided to swat her house. For those unfamiliar, swatting is when some anonymous coward calls the cops and pretends there’s an active shooter, sending armed officers to storm the home of some unsuspecting victim. In this case, the victim was an elderly woman whose only crime was giving birth to a man who helped fight off a mob of Trump’s supporters.

But the lunatics weren’t done. Someone else threw a brick at the window of her home. Then, while she was raking leaves in her front yard, another gutless wonder drove by and chucked a bag of excrement at her. A bag of excrement. Let that sink in. Somewhere out there, a person woke up one morning, decided to take a dump, put it in a bag, and hurl it at an old lady. If there’s a clearer metaphor for the state of Trumpism, I’ve yet to see it.

But the real obscenity, the pièce de résistance of this farce, is Trump’s pardons. One by one, the cretins who beat Fanone and other officers senseless were granted get-out-of-jail-free cards, courtesy of the man who incited the riot in the first place. You’d think the assault of a police officer would be a red line even for Trump’s base, but no—these people weren’t just forgiven; they were celebrated. Heroes of the “patriot” movement. Martyrs to the cause of Make America Great Again.

Legally, those pardons mean Fanone and the other officers are no longer considered victims of crimes committed on January 6th. Think about that. The man was dragged into a mob, beaten unconscious, and suffered a heart attack while defending democracy—and now, thanks to Trump, the perpetrators’ crimes technically never happened. As if the blood spilled that day could just be swept under the rug like some embarrassing accident at a Fourth of July barbecue.

Fanone can’t even get a restraining order against the people who assaulted him. Why? Because under the law, they’re no longer criminals. A restraining order requires evidence of ongoing harassment or threats, and thanks to Trump’s golden ticket of clemency, these goons can walk around with their heads held high, free to harass, intimidate, or worse, without any consequence.

Oh, and if Fanone wanted to file a restraining order, he’d need their addresses, which are conveniently protected. So he’s stuck in a Kafkaesque nightmare where the system that should protect him has been gutted, leaving him exposed to the whims of the very people who tried to kill him.

The real tragedy here isn’t just what happened to Fanone or his mother. It’s what the pardons signify: the triumph of cruelty as a political weapon. Trump has turned victimhood into a brand and grievance into a business model. His pardons are less about mercy and more about sticking it to his enemies. By erasing the crimes of January 6th, he sends a message: “If you’re loyal to me, you can do whatever the hell you want.”

The consequences of this are staggering. It’s not just about Fanone or the other officers who were attacked—it’s about the collapse of accountability. We’re living in a country where the law bends to the whims of a man who treats the presidency like his personal revenge fantasy.

Michael Fanone is a hero, but he’s also a man fighting a losing battle against a system that has failed him at every turn. His mother, an innocent bystander, has been dragged into the fray, humiliated and harassed by people too cowardly to face him directly. And the man who made all this possible is golfing in Florida, grinning like a Cheshire cat while his pardoned goons roam free.

This isn’t just a story about political dysfunction. It’s a goddamn horror show—a cautionary tale about what happens when cruelty and cowardice become virtues, and the people who stand up for what’s right are left to fend for themselves in a country that’s lost its soul.

In fact popular vote 49.8% to 48.3% and EV 312 to 226 is not anywhere near a landslide.

At 1.48%, it is one of the smallest popular vote victories ever.

ie Obama beat McCain by 7.3% and Biden humiliated Trump by 4.5%.

Hahaha…..that is me laughing all the way to the bank. Enjoy getting taxed on tax! Follow your socialist policies to being broke! There is a new sheriff in town, soon every single person in Canada will feel it! There is a reason you people follow US politics, it affects your daily life. I predict the CAD will hit 55 before next year. It hit 61 two weeks ago, I missed it before it bounced. Few of you thought Trump, the felon would win, evidently Justin thought the same, look at him now!! Just sayin!

Once the U.S. entered WW2 Roosevelt intervened personally so that Charles Lindbergh could not join the the Air Force due to his previous anti-war stance and his public criticism of Roosevelt.

Lindbergh went to the Pacific theatre as a civilian contractor and ended flying some 50 combat missions anyway and was credited with shooting down one Japanese plane.

We are still luckier in Canada. Our leader isn't a convicted felon in the service of Russia who will sell out his country to the rich. Good for you to wish us misery and the same to you.
