As you already know, the biggest Earthquake in history just hit Japan.

The 8.9 earthquake triggered a 10m (30ft) tsunami wave which swept across Japan's coastal regions sweeping cars, buildings and ships far inland.

Police said 200 to 300 bodies were found in the northeastern coastal city of Sendai, the city in Miyagi prefecture (state) closest to the quake's epicenter. Another 88 were confirmed killed and at least 349 were missing. The death toll was likely to continue climbing given the scale of the disaster.

The magnitude-8.9 offshore quake unleashed a 23-foot (seven-meter) tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours, many of them of more than magnitude 6.0.

People hasn't slept and in the serious fear.

Dozens of cities and villages along a 1,300-mile (2,100-kilometer) stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo, hundreds of miles (kilometers) from the epicenter. A large section of Kesennuma, a town of 70,000 people in Miyagi, burned furiously into the night with no apparent hope of the flames being extinguished, public broadcaster NHK said.

"The earthquake has caused major damage in broad areas in northern Japan," Prime Minister Naoto Kan said at a news conference.

As some of you who has met me know, I am from northern Japan.
All my family members are in the area of earthquakes.
Some of my close friends are in the heart of the earthquake (Miyagi) and I haven't been able to communicate with them.

As of today, Untill the chaos is settled, all the extra donation from you guys (including, extra, tip, gift donation that I usually bring to SPCA) will go to Japan Red Cross (http://www.jrc.or.jp/)

Well, the Japan Red Cross website has been down, so if they can't come back up again, it will go to Canadian Red Cross for Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami.

Let's all help out if we can!

I think that many of us who partake in this "hobby" with all of these wonderful women, have a certain amount of discretionary income. Not all of us, of course.

I urge all of you who can afford it, to follow the links in Yoko's original email. Donate what you can to help the Red Cross - who, in turn, will help the people of Japan that have been devastated by this earthquake and ensuing tsunamis. This has impacted Yoko and a number of other providers, with family and friends in Japan. Let's support them during this very difficult time, with some financial consideration directed towards the relief efforts.

Please donate now at http://www.redcross.ca/article.asp?id=38380&tid=001+ - it only took me less than a minute!
