I wrote a review on urban spoon that was unfavorable for the restaurant. Not but an hour later it is not showing on their page, but it's still on my account.

Can a restaurant remove a review ?

Yes they can.. especially if you do not have many reviews to your handle.

Start a food blog, i don't think they'll be able to remove that

Try reviewing on TripAdvisor, I think its a lot harder for restaurants to have reviews removed on there.
