Being a classically trained economist, and yet not really professing to know much about either macro nor micro economics... (really, not much about anything)...

I wanted to discover what fellow poster's opinions were with respect to the relationship between our hobby and what is (or isn't) the current market for hourly companionship pricing... (from a purely economic perspective), in Calgary.

In other words, with the stock markets taking a beating, our portfolios are down.
With the housing market taking a beating, our net worth is down.
With the number of layoffs occurring, the price for qualified labour is also declining.
So.... more people with less equity, working for less money, and certainly facing an uncertain future.... well... (please get to the question Alec).. is the prevailing sentiment that there will be a corresponding price reduction in hourly "kisses" or "roses" per hour?

I have noticed lately a number of "special offers", or "last chance to see me as I am retiring" specials .... plus several other similar "specials" for regular clients posted recently.

In short, will Cowtown retain its title as the most expensive city in Canada in which to pursue our hobby? Or will the proverbial equality of market forces soon see a more level playing field across Canada?

I'd love to get everone's opinions, (except perhaps SlimShady's), as his source of income being derived from bottles has no bearing upon the greater Micro and Macro economic situation in Cowtown. ( but you are certainly welcome to post your thoughts on how soon and by how much the redemption money for pop cans, bottles etc etc. will rise Slim...).
(Just kidding SS, your views and experience are most welcome in this thread.)

I'll try to keep a running total... or if somebody knows how to post a voting tabulator.... I'd appreciate it... Tks in advance
