RE: Texas Pete...

Oh boy I really f--ked up.

What Texas Pete did was use the words from the article and made it sound as if he posted them. He never made any reference to the original author. Sirlicheralot was bang on. Sorry Makhno, I should stop drinking and typing at the same time.

But I agree, Pete's a Silly Rabbit and so is the dufus that wrote that stuff in the first place. It wasn't very nice. Makhno was brilliant enough to smoke out the original author. Good work.

And while we're on the subject of Americans, how come all the show girls in Vegas have such nice breasts? Maybe it's the weather. I'd like to apply for a grant from the Federal Gov't and Heddy Fry and I can go down there and find out what they feel like and if they are real or fake. This is information our Gov't needs. Libby Davies (or whatever her name is) can come too.

But Libby is going to be busy for awhile checking out the prostitution industry in Holland with a $200,000 budget. I wish I could come. Did I say that?

Later,
bobsled.

PS.
No drinking and typing. Hic!!

OK Bobsled…..or can I call you BS for short…….now you have crossed the line…

I have seen breasts on every continent except 1 and the nicest breasts in the world are located on the chests of Canadian women.

LD, your country is facing a crisis as a result of the global economy. As consumers you want goods and services at the lowest possible price regardless of their origin. As a result, manufacturing jobs are going elsewhere (ie:China) and services based jobs (ie:call centers) are going to India or even here. Meanwhile, there's a host of services based (ie:fast food joints, hotel services, landscaping, retail etc) and second or third tier manufacturing and assembly jobs on American soil being filled by your buddies from down south (Mexico) because the average American doesn't want to work for those wages. So middle class jobs are heading offshore, lower end jobs are being done by those illegals your Prez wants to legitimize as slave labour, and average folks are being squeezed as a result. How are they ever going to pay for their indulgences? Meanwhile the rich are getting richer, a 10% tax break means more to a billionaire than someone making $10 per hour, and his Wall St buddies are salivating at the prospects of getting their hands on everybody's social security. Real healthy. Don't get me wrong, as your largest trading partner with such a lopsided deal, we really appreciate it.

Me? I want to make sure Canada's unemployment rate is as low as possible, that my family, friends, and neighbours are all working and healthy and not a burden on our taxpayer funded social system. If I have to pay more for goods and services, so be it, especially if it leads to a realistic decrease in the $80k or so a year I pay in taxes. I'll take my approach thank you.

LK – I agree with the facts of your post, although not your characterizations that you have attached to the facts.

What you are describing is the basic difference between our countries. I do not want a say in how Canada sets its economic policy and I do not want you to have a say in US economic policy.

I am very big on personal responsibility. If we make a decision and we are wrong there will be consequences. If Canada decides to tie itself to how the US economy functions and is hurt by a US decision, I believe that is your problem, not mine.

My personal opinion is Canada is in a very vulnerable position. You have decided to live and die by what happens in the US, but you have no say in what happens. It is like you are a passenger in a taxi and the driver will decide where he is going and how much he will charge you. What you get to do is sit in the back seat and whine that you do not like the bumpy road.

At very least we have control of our own destiny. We may be fucked up, but we are where we are because of our own choices. I would not want it any other way.

LD, you obviously didn't read my posts or understand the context. My whole point is look after yours first and if you don't, stop bitching. Canada has nobody to blame but Canada. I'm more than doing my part and have the right to bitch. My opinion on the U.S. is as an outside observer. Period. I have said many times, I have no right or interest in changing American's opinion. I do my thing, you do yours. That being said, as in sports, music, theatre, and SPs etc, opinions on countries other than our own are constantly being shared in this world, whether it's on this board, in the media, or in the workplace. Unlike others, I don't blame the U.S. for all that's wrong in Canada nor do I really give a rats ass what happens there as long as it doesn't affect us adversely in a dramatic way. You basically concurred with most if not all of what I said.
