The First Casualty of War
The First Casualty of War is truth....indeed even those of us who lived and survived within a war zone on occassion could not recognize truth if it kicked us in the ass....much less could the media. Perception is reality and reality is perception....to a hammer everything looks like a nail......The other problem with war zones is that when you are living or at least attempting to stay alive in same...your senses and imagination are amplified to a degree where you have a hard time distinguishing fact from fantasy and sometimes fact is a lot more bizzare than anything that is the product of imagination......I suspect that my memories of my experiences are so entangled with all sorts of other junk and fatansies that I have collected in my psyche....that I cannot seperate out what I have remembered, what I have dreamed, or what I have imagined...I don't think my experiences or feelings are all that different from other vets....maybe that's why we don't really talk all that much about the details....but restrict ourselves to just a general feeling about the whole experience....as for the media...they are merely the guys who come down from the hills after the battle to count the wounded and dead....

Nope. Actually I think it's great that you two have some perverse attraction to one another. Since LD is clearly a far leaning right wing American who obviously wouldn't support gay marriage or rights, while you are a far to the left Canadian who would probably support gay marriage and rights, perhaps you can just meet LD in the center and blow him. Not that there's anything wrong with that but, really, the whole thing gives me the creeps.....
