I was really hoping that with Charlie Sheen leaving Two & A Half Men last year that it would die off. Unfortunately I was wrong....
I don't get why that show is so popular... I have never laughed at anything on there (from what I have seen) and I find the theme song to be torturous...

90% of the TLC line-up. My Big Fat American Wedding, Toddlers & Tiaras, 19 Kids And Counting, Say Yes To The Dress, Here Comes Honey Fucking Boo Boo . . . It's like they found the bottom of the barrel, and then drilled through it so they could keep heading down.

A good start would be:

Any type of Reality TV (Survivor, America Idol, Kardashians, or any of the others mentioned above).

Shitty sitcoms such as Modern Family, BBT, Two and Half Men, Mike and Molly, etc (pretty much all of the top Neilsen rated shows...).

All talk shows especially Leno, The View, etc (except for Craig Ferguson, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report).

Any entertainment report show such as Entertainment Tonight and the E Network as a whole (except for The Soup).

All "News" channels such as Fox News, CNN, Headline News, CBC News, etc, (except for Al Jazeera).

Any faith based show.

Have not watched TV all summer.

Might pic the odd movie and labor through some shows in the winter mths when cabin fever sets in.

Anyone have a tv show that meets Boston Legal wit? I did enjoy that one.

So basically....everything

I will agree wholeheartedly on all reality TV - I've said a million times that Survivor was the beginning of the downfall of Western society as we knew it.

Everything on A&E. It used to be such a good channel. Same with the history channel

Any exterminator, gator hunting or "fishing" show. Disgusting.
Same with History Television - used to be chock full of, well, HISTORY stuff. Now it's all these f'ing retarded reality shows like Ice Truckers, Pawn Shop Stars, etc. What. The. Fuck.

GOD, yes... remember when TLC used to stand for The LEARNING Channel?? Ugh... bottom of the barrel is right...
The only "reality" show that I will cop to watching is Survivor, because I have watched it from the get-go, and I enjoy it for the human element. Still can't believe there are people stupid enough out there who don't know how to play that game...

And sorry, Kayla, I LOVE Deadliest Catch... by far one of my favorites...

One show that bothers the hell out of me is The Office. I have yet to laugh at ANYTHING on that stupid show, and it boggles my mind how it's so popular...

There are a few good shows worth watching on network TV like:

Community, Parks and Recreation, Suburgatory, DTTBIA23, Cougartown & Fringe.

The rest of the shows I watch are on cable or specialty channels like:

Mad Men, Archer, G.O.T, Breaking Bad, Justified, Louie, Mythbusters, Southland & Homeland.

Or BBC shows like:

Sherlock, Misfits & Luther.

Sadly though I most often end up turning to shows that have finished their runs or been cancelled like:

The Wire, Homicide, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, BSG, Arrested Development, The IT Crowd and many others who could not find audiences among the brain dead and elderly who make up the Nielsen demographic.

Of the top 10 Nielsen rated shows for 2011-2012 I only watch 1 occasionally. The rest are garbage.

TOTAL VIEWERS

Sunday Night Football: 20.74 million

A&E has Longmire which isn't a great show but it has Katee Sackhoff...

Food Network shows. I used to watch so it would teach me to cook or give me ideas. now it's all competition shows I'm learning nothing.
Curb Your Enthusiasm................I have yet to even ever come close to smiling with that show. I just don't get how it's funny.

^^^Food Network in the US has gone to shit. I don't have my TV set up or anything here, so no comments on FN CA. But down yonder they realised they jumped the shark, so a year or so back they made "Cooking" with all of the Canadian Food Network shows from 06-10 and things like Good Eats, Boy Meets Grill, and pretty much everything NOT on FN anymore. It's amazing and I took FN out of my favourites once Cooking came into existence.

Most game shows these days suck too. GSN came off of my favourites once they stopped showing the good vintage shows at a reasonable time. I love 25k Pyramid but I'm not staying up until 3am for it.

TLC = awful. Discovery = getting there quickly. Nat Geo is still okay!
I miss the days of Emeril Live, and (moreso) his cooking show where he was by himself. Other shows I miss are East Meets West with Ming Tsai, and that one BBQ grilling show that was hosted by that bald, black chef - his name escapes me. Only thing I watch is Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives - even though Guy Fieri is a choad, the food is amazing....

I don't find Discovery to be as bad as TLC, A&E and History are becoming, though....

TOTALLY agree with all of you - the Food Networks have gone to complete shit. I don't know if it's just summer programming - but here's a list of the really good, educational, helpful, and enlightening COOKING shows they seem to figure none of us want to watch:

Everyday Italian
Emeril
French Food at Home
Sarah Moulton
Christine Cushing
Tyler's Ultimate
Good Eats

They used to have three solid hours of instructional shows from 2pm-5pm, and they stopped doing that. The only one left I actually like is Chef at Home, and it's been a while since they've run a new episode.

Now it's all these fucking useless competition shows where conflict, drama, and juvenile humour are more important than actually fucking cooking something.

Gordon Ramsay's British version of Kitchen Nightmares was awesome - minus the US-driven sensationalist crap, as was Restaurant Makeovers - because those programs showed people actually being helped to succeed, and sure there was suspense and drama, but it was tasteful and even-handed. I'm wondering if Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen wasn't the "survivor" of cooking shows.

I got worried the day they discontinued the REAL Iron Chef - and sure enough, it's been just about all downhill since then :(

I absolutely LOVE that version - where his cursing in uncensored... brilliant...

I. LOVED. THAT. SHOW. Oh my god. I'd run home from the bus to watch it! I know exactly what you're talking about! Rob Rainford, license to Grill.
THANK you... couldn't remember for the life of me

Here and There
Well I just got informed tonight by my physiotherapist I'm to stop going to the gym and no more golf for the time being. Since I'm off work for the next month or so I'll catch up on an old show.

Already polished off both seasons of Game of Thrones. Now wondering if I should do The Wire, Breaking Bad (seen the pilot before) or The Walking Dead (the couple episodes I've seen actually kind of annoyed me).

I swear outside of the sportsnet channels I really dont need tv at all (weekends usually have some half decent to watchable movies on). Sports = the original reality tv.
