All through 2015 the media, pundits, pollsters and talk shows told us Trump would lose the election. They said, not only would he lose, but it would probably be one of the largest pluralities ever. A total wipeout of epic proportions.

Hillary Clinton would be proclaimed president of the United States - a position she was to occupy because destiny - and the Democratic Party said was a sure thing.

The Democrats held all the cards, knew all the answers, the media was on-side and their candidate had been in training for 30 years. Trump was a buffoon, a misogynist, braggart, racist, no politician. Said the wrong things. Lied.

Then the election happened. Oops, Trump won.

There had to be some explanation. His supporters were deplorable. Mouth breathers. Uneducated. Racists. Stupid. Rednecks. White supremacists. Nationalists. Nazis! There couldn’t be that many of them, could there?

Wait - the Russians. That’s it, the Russians were colluding, interferring, subverting, conniving.

Oops, that didn’t work out, either, it seems.

Impeachment, obstruction and being a terrible human being wasn’t enough to dislodge Trump, so how do the Democrats go after him, now. Let’s go after his tax returns again. That worked out so well last time.

Let’s try immigration. Oops - he threatens to flood sanctuary cities with illegal immigrants, and exposes those leaders for the hypocrites they are.

How about the economy? Oops, still chugging along, although slowing.

Health Care? Still not a lot of traction there.

Okay - how about getting a shit-load of candidates, and see who floats to the top? Older woman, gay dude, creepy old groper, black woman, retread socialist, non-entities. Good luck there.


Policy? What’s that? The Green New Deal seems dead in the water, and even many Democrats don’t buy it. Are open borders going to sway voters towards them, or away? Especially if the economy wanes? The Democrats might find somebody that can dislodge him, but at this point CNN promotion and talking points don’t look like enough to produce anything but another President Trump 2020.

I highly doubt that up to 140,000,000 Russians died in the gulags under Stalin that’s a huge number of people. Even 60,000,000 is a pretty big stretch. That’s far more than were killed by the Germans in WWII who went at it with ruthless efficiency.

I'd say the typical unaware of their world American would look at Venezuela or Cuba as the socialism type states to avoid. They wouldn't be able to comprehend that the most advanced socialist states are in Europe, have fully paid education, fully paid health care and enjoy above average wages.

On the 2020 Campaign, I'm predicting a totally unfiltered Mueller report will not be put in the hands of Congress. There probably are reasons to charge #45 with obstruction amongst other charges. They can not charge a sitting president under their system. Congress will take it to the Supreme Court where the Republican dominated court will rule in favour of #45. This could start a constitutional crisis.

Best hope of getting #45 on tax evasion, money laundering, emoluments etc is via Southern District of NY and W Virginia who don't operate the same as Federal courts.

Between being sent to the gulags and being worked to death whilst also being starved or being executed en masse by firing squads yes that many people if not more died by the will of Stalin.It was not only the peasants/workers but all the way up the chain of society....from members of the officer corps in the armed forces as well as Communist Party officials.Nobody was safe except Stalin.

A friend of mine grew up in Poland when it was still under the Iron Curtain and he experienced the repression.You could not even speak a word of discontent about the government in you own apartment for fear of being reported by an informer which were numerous.Say the wrong thing and the KGB show up in the middle of the night and take you away never to be heard from again.

More Russian citizens died under Stalin's regime than WW1/WW2 combined.In short he was an insane despotic crackpot who brought nothing but misery to his nation.
