Truly a horrific kind of disgusting is displayed here.

We get it... you HATE aborigional people, black people, gay people etc... Your posts are toxic trash and I don't even know how you are allowed to post your hateful crap on here every week.

Mods.. why is this guy allowed to continue to post his hate mail on a board full of people who aren't just old white racist men? Reading his posts make me feel like I've stumbled into the dark web on a KKK site. His bullshit is traumatizing.
Thank you ! Nicely said

So would you like to pay out of your pocket book for all the money the Aboriginals will make over this?? In case you don't know, you already are through your taxes....

PantherDash you are going in the wrong direction with the family lines, its more than likely grand uncle or great grand aunt. Those graves are somewhere between 1900 and 1960s. A girl, niece, nephew, and grandson would indicate a much older person related to these dead 215 kids. Have to assume the dead in the graves didn't have children. Yes I am being an ass, because you are being one too.

People are saying I 'm being callous about the dead 215 kids, when I pointed out more kids died in Rawanda, I was accused of minimizing the impact of the deaths of these 215 kids. Its an emotional response.

Why should I be empathic to that, just because you think I should be empathic. Cause that would be the politically correct thing to do? The reality is that more kids died in Rawanda and everyone here jumping on my case, thinks that the 215 kids that died at a residential school is somehow more important than the kids that died in Rawanda.

It Isn't.

Its a tragedy that people get stuck on the "horseshit" lines political correctness is. So I like to ask "Who has their Head up their Ass"??

Now for future debates some idiot should bring up reconciliation. who wants to start..... Preferably someone who pays income tax and land taxes.....
Wow , you are definitely part of the problem , no empathy what so ever .
Look at these children’s faces .. can you imagine the horrors of their daily life ? I don’t think you can . Your comments scream “angry white man “

Here is the thing... When one interprets the world with privilege or entitlement, the person looses his mind. Sometimes, we become too angry at the injustice that happened to ourselves that we say things so selfish and disgusting without realizing it.

After George Floyd's murder, Black folks in the states are so enraged that one of them gave a ridiculous comment: "Nobody has suffered more injustice than Black people in the United States." Which, given the fact that the indigenous peoples in the US have also been mistreated historically, is entirely false. And the comment obviously outraged the Indigenous communities and other minority groups in the states alike.

Looking at what this guy uses to back up his argument: tragedies in Rwanda. And openly admitted: "I don't care about the Aboriginals in Canada." A person who admits such things doesn't care about any injustice at all except his own. He only cares about tax money injustice because it affects himself. I don't think he cares about tragedies happening in anywhere else in the world, he just uses them to disguise his own selfishness and hate. Not to mention being manipulated to pay more tax money and innocent lives being taken away are not to be compared on the same level.

A person who sincerely cares about human rights will not try so hard to diminish any human rights injustice. It is irrelevant to bring up another human right injustice in a conversation focused on this particular one. I am trying to make an objective point here, which is that this is not about who suffers the most. For God's sake. When one speaks about their pain, shut up and educate yourself if you are not well aware of it already. It doesn't matter what race you are, white, black, Asian, Latin, Aboriginal, we should fight for each other's justice instead of whining about our own pain and diminishing others. That's all I have to say.

An elder who went through the residential school system told me how they knew when one of the other students got molested…they would often come back with a piece of fruit after the deed was done.

So are you saying that all old white men are racists? If you are. I don’t agree with you...but I defend your right to say it. Just as I don’t agree with him, either. But I also defend his right to say it!

Maybe because I stated facts. You don't like the way I interpret them. Because its against your world view. I don't hate Aboriginal people, I just said they should pay taxes on land and income tax.
You should reread this whole post. Look at the facts. Don't jump to conclusions.
Is my bullshit the same thing for a different name like "lies"? What lies am I telling?
Are you going to wait for a coroner's report too. To see what the kids actually died from? Or you just assumed the 215 kids were killed in an injust manner?

I have not read all these posts, but what is really disturbing to me, is the reaction by Jason Kenney to this. He is trying to brush all First Nation affairs under the rug and pretend nothing happened.

When you jump into a conversation about residential schools and say but taxes! Your hate IS showing. All your posts are obsessions about race. You can't say that isn't a fact.
No. I don't hate the Aboriginal People. I do think they should pay land taxes and income tax though...

The tax thing makes me laugh. We lost absolutely everything, we're beggars in our own land. I get a kick out of people like 80 watts thinking life is like Nirvana on the reservation where everything is free and every Indian has an offshore bank account. When the reality is my own reservation doesn't have potable drinking water, that they have to boil there water to make it drinkable. Chris Rock said it best" I'm a black millionaire and the most dirt poor cracker still wouldn't trade places with me."I think the injuns tax bill is free and clear considering the circumstances. And by the way,I've worked my entire adult life and paid every tax that everyone else pays And since we've signed our treaty ,there are no more tax free perks such as gas or smokes or tax free shopping in stores situated on reservations. The only way a native doesn't pay any tax is if that native lives and works on reserve and there aren't many jobs or housing for that matter. Many people move off reserve because there isn't housing available and even if a native wanted to get a mortgage and build his own house on reserve,no bank on earth would give him a mortgage because they get scared away ,thinking that that person will default on their payments and the bank has no way of collecting. Very few people know this but indians weren't even considered people until 1961, they weren't allowed to vote or leave their reservation without permission from the Indian agent. Indians were not given the right of being innocent until proven guilty by a court of law because we weren't considered people. Many benefits given to every other Canadian were often denied to Indians,Freddie Prince, Canada's most decorated native war hero was denied veterans benefits that were given to every other Canadian that served their country. He died living in squalor as an alcoholic after heroically serving his country.

This is very much an overheated thread that has gotten way off from the expressions of grief, disgust and anger at a historical tragedy. It would be good to keep it going at a much dialed down level and not have personal attacks.

Flicked on CBC just awhile ago and I see the RCMP are opening up an investigation into the Kamloops school. Google tells me there were 139 residential schools registered originally and more run by provinces and various churches. I believe this is going to get a lot more ugly and it will go on a long long time.
