Just talked to my brother back home and he is afraid a war is about to break out. After watching what is going on in Mumbai, I can't help think why Thailand isn't getting that much news coverage. Sure tourists are stuck at airports, but my brothers been beaten by the police for being on the street. The Peoples Alliance are trying to stop the corrupt government, but it looks life a civil was is going to happen. Too many government soldiers and crazy protesters with grenades are fighting it out in the street and at the palace.

Makes me sad I can't do anything and I can't go back anymore. Thanks for listening, I'm afraid but glad to be in Vancouver at the same time.:(

No offense to the Thai people but some of the soldiers I see on TV needs to eat a lot of beef and join the gym. I can see why the protesters arent scared much.

Try reading "The King Never Smiles" by Paul Handley. There are a lot of similarities between Thailand and Iran with the way the government are running. If the king dies out, I don't see Prince will be as popular..Bhumibol needs to step up or step off..Thai citizens need to realize their divine king's reputation is merely propaganda. Until the gap between the rich and the poor is equalized, there's gonna be a hell lot more rebellions. Lot of things the royal family could have done in the last 50 years, they chose not to. Why not invest in some high-tech industry instead of letting the women sell their innocent, Buddha bodies?

Why can't you go back?
1000 bucks and 15 hours and your at Nana plaza.
you can have a war or revolution going on at one end of Sukumvit and bars at the other end will be , business as usual. if your really from there , you know that.
Im going in march. If i make it to pattaya then im happy.
