what if i'm just passing by another zone. ie i don't get off that zone. if i ride skytrain from 29th ave station to renfrew station, logically i have to take millenium line which passes another zone. is it fair for the passenger to pay two zones instead of one zone? no, because you created this fucking loophole! this is why checking tickets in the train is stupid and unfair. You are enjoying unfair system! Go to hong kong and see if they regulate fare like this. if they are, legco members will fuck the government big and the public will fuck the government big and they have to amend the system! learn to be fair and competitive!

i don't think you always take translink practically. did the trip planner say it's a millenium line all the way? even though it does, transit police officier doesn't. if you have a one zone fare ticket and cross to zone 2, they won't ask where you are going. they just give you the fucking ticket. and they don't just tell you to go add fare. they just give you the fucking ticket. this system has a double standard! quit arguing with me about system. i take more than enough and know how ridiculous the system here is!

Technically, you could ride the Milleniom from 29th station to Commercial Station then switch to the east-bound direction to Renfrew station. Your logic does not hold shit as the mayor of vancouver found out in public. The moment you cross Joyce station to Patterson station, you have violated the zone rule.

Think of it this way, would you argue with a taxi driver if you told him to drive you from 29th station to renfrew station, and wanting to only pay for the shorter distance?

I hope the new Compass card will be able to calculate the correct fare for folks like you ---- pay your fair share!

taxi is different. you can tell the driver to go whatever route you like and taxi's fare system is different. taxi is by route/distance, tranlink is by zone! how many times do i have to remind people that translink's fare system is not fair in all angles! because of this translink wants to kill the taxi drivers' lives! So as a whole translink is fucked up by the government! and now translink is like "we are fucking right". i call that murderer!

29th and Renfrew are in the same zone. You change lines at Commercial, no crossing zones. Quit your fucking whining and be an adult...

I call bullshit on that....no money is lost because of "fare evasion".....it is not like people are ripping open ticket machines and stealing money...the simple fact is that the transit authority did not "make" money on those projected fares that were evaded....and I am pretty sure the fines levied for those that are caught evading fares is a great deal more due to the high price of those tickets.....I myself dont use proletarian transit such as the bus or the C-train(AKA the germ tube) as I own a car but I sure as hell see a lot of transit enforcement officials on the C-train platforms handing out tickets.....and I have even read a story of a Translink enforcement official tasering a fare evader...yeah that punishment sure fits the crime...fail to pay $2.50 so you get zapped with 50,000 volts by an overzealous douchebag who has a control complex.


ANY transit authority that complains about fare evasion is full of shit.....it costs them nothing in fuel nor lost fares it is just a statistic used to justify a means.

And having lived in Vancouver I think the transit zoning system is an abuse towards the marginalized segment of society that has no choice but to use the transit system.

BTW, like any other general public, we usually let it stat-barred because this is a waste of time and money to go to court to dispute or even pay! Heck, if i was a billionaire, i wouldn't mind just pay it!

But since Canada is too proud of its system, ICBC should have expunged the ticket. So, legally, I can fuck them up!

Yeah well I just bet you are one of those people who say they "cant afford to own/insure/maintain a car" but you use taxi's.

Man up and pay your fine or quit whining about it or trying to justify it on PERB.....if you can afford to pay hookers for sex you can afford to pay the unjustly levied zoned transit fares that are enforced via Translink's officials that are employed to write fines.That or worry about a possible mark on your credit rating.

Yes I think the zone system is total BS but you have to roll with the punches and pay the cost if need be...that or you can run the risk of getting a ticket and or possibly tasered.

In the future mercyshooter do not take a tiny portion of what I had to say to support your position as I resent it.

And on further thought you should save up some money to purchase/insure/maintain a vehicle you filthy transit riding proletariate.
