my $0.02

i saw it opening night and I liked it. I didn't go in with much expectations. big robots, big explosions, big breasts. what more do you need? a plot?!? If you want a plot, go watch sense and sensibility. What I wanted to see was big well animated CG robots doing f*** all in the city and everywhere else. And thats what I got. so i'm a happy camper.

The GI Joe movie might be good and I think it will acctually have more depth then the transformers movies have had.
I really like the guy who's Gonna play cobra commander, he was on third rock from the sun and was really good in the lookout.
I never got into GI Joe as a kid though but the movie looks cool.
I dunno... everything I have read about this movie has been bad.... I'll still end up going to see it, having been a lifelong GIJoe fan, of course... :p

I finally saw this movie this afternoon. The theater was packed as expected. Since I went there without too much expectation except enjoying special effects, violence, and Megan Fox, it was a very entertaining movie. In addition, there was another hot supporting cast in the movie. I believe her name is Isabel Lucas who was as hot as Megan Fox.

I just read that Michael Bay is one of a few select, advanced, understudy-protoges of Steven Spielberg.

Hard to believe.

Pearl Harbor by him sucked, too.

I can find pictures of her on the internet and save myself an indecent exposure charge.
I didn't believe that it was actually possible for her to look any hotter than she did in the first one but lo and behold! Here ya go, buddy!

He should just save us the pretense and make "Explosion: The Movie", where he just blows shit up for 90 minutes straight, maybe interspersed with some titties, and I don't have to pretend that the acting and writing aren't sub par or ignore the gaping plot holes.
Robot Chicken did it!

This is pretty good too:

And this may be the greatest love song ever from a movie!

You know, I understand rabid fandom for something we have nostalgic memories for from our childhood, so I do get where some of you are coming from. If you want to get my ire, all you need to say to me is "Joel Shumacher Batman movies" or "nipples on the Bat suit." Personally, I even had some serious issues with Batman Begins (although, I have no complaints about Dark Knight -- that was perfect!). And I know some guys who were very big Spider Man comics fans, who still grumble when you mention Sam Raimi around them.

When I went into the first Transformers movie, I admit that I had fairly low expactations and ended up enjoying it much more than I thought I would. And I've enjoyed it on many a repeat viewing as well. I actually think the writers did a good job of capturing the tone of the old cartoons while finding a way to appeal to a wider audience. And we can say what we want about Michael Bay but he knows how to make a stylish, glossy, good looking movie. In my opinion, the first one was a lot of fun. And I think this sequel is pretty good too. I don't think the pacing is quite as sharp as the first and I thought that the first did a better job of finding a way to balance time for all the characters. But for those of us who did enjoy the first one, I'd say this was a pretty enjoyable follow up. And for the Transformers purists, I think you'll at least be somewhat more pleased with the writing of the relationship between Megatron and Starscream in this one than the first.

I thought the Starscream/Megatron fighting was perfect.

I was a little ticked off with some of the other stuff like Devastator, Soundwave's voice, etc. but it definitely entertained me...

Plus, Megan Fox & Isabel Lucas were simply incredible to look at...

More of the hotness that is MegaFox:

It's not about being a fanboy or saying oh it's not true to tranformers.
It simply is NOT tranformers.
I watched and enjoyed beast wars/beasties which was very far removed from tranformers but it was still tranformers and it was good.
These "tranformers" movies are just space machine movies with the tranformers logo slapped onto it.
I have not seen tranformers 2 and I will not, that's how much I disliked tranformers as a tranformers film (good as a giant alien machine movie).

The fact that I can't fucking tell who's who is the biggest evidence of how these are NOT tranformers movies.
I saw lord of the rings once, never read the books but even after all these years I could point out to you who is what character even if I can't recall the exact name I remmeber a general idea of who is who, I could not do the same 5 minutes after walking outside of transformers (with the exception of optimus and bumble bee, the yellow one is supposed to be bumble bee right?).

Transformer 2 is getting alot of bad reviews and if its anything like the 1st one then I can see why!! The first one had a horrible story line and weak acting.
