Towing John's Vehicle

I was reading in the Sun today that the police are planning to tow vehicles suspected to belong to John's. Here is the link....

I am guessing they are taking about the guys who go for a walk on the streets to pick up SP's.

What are your guys thoughts on this? Should we be worried?

I think it's the guy who picks up a LE officer thinking she is a SP. that is going to have his vehicle confiscated.

This could get fun. My office is near the stroll along Centre Street, and I park along there. I get into work around 5:30 AM and there are usually a few girls still out on the street. I just hope I dont get harassed by the cops for "parking" in the area and "cruising the streets". Most of the time they are not worth crusing.

This is typical for Calgary. I am not a street girl guy myself but I really dont get how this bullshit can possibly be legal.

LE is determined to stamp out the Calgary sex trade. They are relentless. Good old conservative Calgary. Give me a break.

Sorry to disappoint you Rocker, but this new law is for all of Alberta, including Edmonton.
On the bright side, I have heard that you can get your vehicle back if you complete John school. It's still gonna cost you some money and lots of embarassment.

Hi

I worked in Calgary for three years on 3rd avenue and only saw 4 cars towed.
In my experiences it was when a man was talking to a undercover officer or if a gentleman was talking to the working and admitted to the police that he was requesting or seeking certain favors..
Happy hunting....there are still good girls out there.

This greatly concerns me. What happens if they see me going into a MP? Does this give them the right to tow my vehical? Now in theory, I am not cruising to pick up girls, I am going into a place of business, however this still makes me leery as to what they can or can't do. Any words of wisdom??

Escorting is legal just as long as contact isn't made in a public place, but if you do it in public they can permanently seize your vehicle. But you can be a repeat drunk driver and kill people with your car and they only temporarly impound your vehicle.

It's just an easy target to give the illusion to the public that the CPS is doing something about crime and acting tough. Meanwhile real crimes can go on with little care from them...
