The two drink rule, well I had three shots of tequila, two rye&gingers and a cooler all within one hour, at the 1.5hr mark I blew into the vehicles testing and the truck started. I'd like to go down to a cop shop, drink and test every half hour to see how impaired I am thought to be at what levels.

* This was a test, I did not drive, was out at the camp with a group of friends. Also your vehicle will record how many times you attempted to blow, and if you passed or not, this can affect your suspension review.

Are you talking about being charged at the "warn" levels (.05-.07)? These are what the new rules in BC affect. $200 fine. 3 day license suspension with a $250 reinstatement fee. And your car could be towed and impounded for the 3 days. Suspension and fine increases with multiple infractions.

If you are charged criminally with being over .08 and convicted - you have a criminal record. First offense you get a 1 year driving ban, $1000 fine. After the year, you'll have to pay to have your license reinstated, not sure how much. But before you can do that, you have to take a course (about another $1000) and I believe now you have to pay to have one of those interlock devices installed in your vehicle.

If you would have just taken the time to visit one of the links Stella_Hardon posted for you, you would have found the answer by now.

FAIL means your BAC is above 0.08. If you fail or refuse to provide a breath sample:

* You will immediately lose your driver’s licence for 90 days and your vehicle for 30 days.
* You will pay all related towing and storage fees.
* You will pay a $500 monetary penalty and a $250 driver's licence reinstatement fee.
* To regain your driving privileges, you will have to complete the Responsible Drivers Program [PDF] and have to use an Ignition Interlock Device [PDF] whenever you drive, for one full year, following your driving suspension.
* In all, you will face administrative consequences that will cost you about $4,060 before you can legally operate a motor vehicle again in B.C.
* You may also face charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.

I believe and know that its up to the discretion off the cop,its not automatic that on your first offence, you will get the ignition interlock device,or the driving program.

About 15 years ago I, er no a friend, challenged a roadside suspension and was invited to the Rmd. RCMP station (free ride in a cruiser!). Promptly blew .09 twice. Operater asked the constable which warning he had read me, and he told the truth; 24 roadside. "You're a lucky man Mr. review, free to go"
Took the 24, paid the impound and, most importantly, adjusted my attitude.
If you think you've had one too many, you've probably had two too many.
