i know there's been many threads before, and believe me i've used the search function. some of the links on those threads are old and lead to dead ends.

now my question is do you need some time of player to play the torrents after they've been downloaded? or is windows media enough? i downloaded a movie, and i can play it on windows media but i hear the sound and can only see that weird trippy visual stuff...not the actual movie. do i need to download a codec converter or something? any links would be really appreciated.
thanks

Schizo_man is correct, download VLC player (do a google search), it will play all the "hard to play" files.

I personally use Windows Media Player. If you download the DVIX decoder (you will get no video, and maybe no audio), and the AC3 decoder (doby decoder, otherwise you will get no audio), you should be able to play most files.

When all else fail, use VLC player :D
