A report on prostitution. Four o'clock on King5. I don't usually watch her show, but I am interested to hear what she has to say.

Well, I am not suprised by the tone of the show. The guests were all victims. There was a victim of drugs, a victim of poverty, a victim of a pimp, a pimp in prison because he was the victim of underage SWs who lied about their age, a victim of clients and a victim of both her pimp and ego. All the ladies are no longer working and still feel shame and disgust with what they did, their souls are in pain. That was sad to see.

Not a single lady who is still in the biz, well adjusted, educated, happy and drugfree with no regrets. Or better yet, how about a lady who was in the business, but gave it up when she had enough money to start her own successful business or go to school to become a dentist, whatever...and also has no regrets. Don't tell me they are not out there. I'm one of them and I personally know several others.

Too bad to hear they didn't make an effort to find the positive side of the business - it is out there. It is just not what people expect to find or necessarily want to hear, because it might shatter their illusions that the whole sex trade is evil, immoral, whatever.

How about interviewing a lady who feels she is continuing an ancient and honoured tradition? Who has respect for herself and her clients, and went in conscientiously with eyes-wide-open?

Well that's it then. Guess I'll just have to write a book! :D

Ladies.....I saw alittle bit of it.....And I do feel sorry for the ones that became lost in the business....it's sad to treat a person ( soul ) like a piece of trash....

Ladies...Like Gene Simmons ( rock band KISS ) say's...
" THE DRUGS AND THE BOOZE IS A LOSER MAN'S GAME" !!

Ladies I totally agree with him....well...alittle booze that's hurt moderately:)

But i big time agree about the drugs....YOU DON'T NEED THEM!!!
They're bullshit....enjoy life....it's hard as it is...

take care and stay safe...:) :)

bah.......what ever I say. Long as she's good to go for a green is all I cares abouts.

God will sort out the rest, as a matter-0-fact he already did. Life is a delicate balance of this against that. Without losers there can be no winners.

I saw parts of the show and agree. It was little more than a "look how high my horse is" piece that did little more than feed the stereotype that's already ingrained in the minds of "White America".

I was actually pissed about the segment where they arrested a working girl. Shortly after the arrest, Lisa Ling does an interview with the girl and I was so annoyed by her line of questioning. Things are already bad enough for the poor girl, who admitted that she was simply trying to put herself through nursing school while raising her kid. But she's sitting there handcuffed, and the line of questioning that LL took just struck me as rubbing the girl's nose in situation, although I'll admit that the girl consented to the interview.

And then she's simply thrown in jail. How is that supposed to help that girl or make the situation better? What good did that do? Assuming that what she said is true, they've done little more than taken away her only means of supporting herself and child. Since bills don't just go away if your in jail, they've seemed to only make her situation worse. They seemed to skip over that point.

Oprah's demographic is bored housewives and she panders to them. She tells them how good they are and how much better they are than everyone else-I can't stand her.

As much as we all may like to see a show that presents sucessful and empowered women, how many would really risk losing their anonymity to appear on TV?

That is a barrier I don't see an easy way to overcome...

One thing the show did do is it made me wonder how most of you indies got into the business in the first place. It's usually not a girl's first choice in career opportunities. What was it that lit the lightbulb in the head and made you think "I know, I'll do escorting"? I haven't seen this question on the board yet. Were you introduced by another SP? Is this too personal a question?

It wasn't my first career choice. I had a career in health care and I decided I should follow that age old advice of 'find a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life'. I love to f*ck, case closed! :)

I would take it a step further, and say her audience is middle-middle class to lower-upper class (mostly white) American women. The large majority of which are probably educated, yet likely did little with their schooling, and find themselves being supported by their husband.
