Time has chosen Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as their Person of the Year. Not sure why - the media all predicted Biden would win, so what's supposed to be so special about a 47 year career politician winning another election?

It's either a sign of how insular the US is, or a complete lack of awareness, but how could they choose two long-time politicians, and ignore the obvious choice of the Coronavirus,
front-line hospital workers,
nurses,
or the scientists or companies that came up with a vaccine in record time?

I think it should have been Fauci. One of the few people who didn't fear telling the truth to power.

It would've been fair to select Trump again, but Biden/Harris are equally uninspiring. Fauci might've been too American-centric to warrant a selection. With everybody "stuck" within the confines of their home/country, whatever made the most noise within makes sense to be the selection.

For what it's worth, this "Person of the Year" is defined by Time to have influenced the year the most, for better or for worse. It is no surprise that the list is littered with politicians instead of the likes of Dr. Fauci, and of course it has included the likes of Hitler and Stalin in the past.

It's a magazine... nothing worth noting really.

It is egregious but no more so than giving Obama a Nobel Peace Prize for being elected
