Threatening phone calls....anyone else?

Hi everyone,
I will admit I am somewhat of a lurker and do not post often, but today I am. I am an sp who advertises on a couple of well known websites and I have recently (past couple weeks or so) started to get some prank calls. Not overly unusual seeing as I am an online advertiser so my number is definitely out there, but these calls are getting more menacing. The caller always calls from a calling card generated number,and has not yet actually spoken to me, only leaving messages on my voicemail. First it was just "whore"....real original, right? It has progressed to saying things like " Hey whore, I'm coming to see you real soon....watch out." This happened again today. I have not had any bad experiences with any of my clients......and I can not figure out who it could be or why he is so focused on me. Usually when you ignore someone they go away...this guy is only worsening. So I am wondering if there are any ladies out there who are having the same thing happen. If this has happened to you or someone you know, please pm me. My concern is not only for myself, but for all my fellow sp's as well. If this guy is so consumed and going through so much time and effort to freak people out and hide who he is....it could be leading up to him acting on this apparent loathing he seems to have for escorts and working girls. I am hoping I am not the sole target of his aggression.......

Sorry to hear your troubles. First off, save your messages and call ID. Also, I would advise calling LE, also your phone company. Guys like this can be dangerous and is sounds like he is progressing.

Well your first mistake is writting about it. Now you are giving the loner what he craves, and that is attention. The best thing to do is just ignore him and he'll find someone else to go bug. It's no fun for him without a reaction...

I haven't got any creepy phone calls at Charlie's Anglez. I will keep my guard up however. May I ask if you are a indy? Guys try get away with more shit if you are....Keep me posted

In my posting this thread, I am putting out a warning for others and seeing if anyone else has had this happen. It is unfortunate that he might read this and enjoy the effect, but I think it is far more important to get the word out so people are aware of what's going on. Thanks for the input though...

I don't think that he was looking for a reaction from her here, as she hasnt posted here before....... Also, with guys like this who progressively get more threatening you can't ignore them. Sooner or later they MAY want to act on the fantasy that they have all worked out in their head. Best thing to do is notify LE, that's what they are there for.

I have had my fair share of shit to deal with as well, never fucking fails when someone tries to get you down. If you get harassing emails from a shaw address I know someone that can get the down low on who they are

I would go to the police if I were you. He's leaving threatening messages, and there's no way for you to know if he's serious or not, so don't take the risk.

I think you might not be the only one. I know of at least one agency that's been getting prank calls from some guy. I believe the owner called the police but I don't have all the details.

Just press *57 you can't get the result, but the police can. Tracing a call on digital equipment is very fast. The old days when the person needed to be kept on the line for a few minutes are long gone.
