Is it my faulty recollection, or was last winter shorter than this one? Was it warmer too? Are we getting more rain than last time?? I've been waiting and waiting for spring...

It seems to me that last year we had a beautiful February, which gave us a nice break, but then it was rainy until late May.
We had a ton of rain last year. There was one stretch that was one day short of the consecutive days record. Yeah, one day of no rain, and then another long string of rainy days.
This year we got the first snow in November two months early. Then there was more snow in January. And much more snow overall than last year.
So this year winter is longer, and snowier, but with less rain (in spite of the latest two day deluge).
But it still sure beats the hell out of minus-deep something weather with freezing winds, ice thick on the roads, and feet of snow...

Global warming does not mean more constent weather. In germany one friend said they were saying they had "no" winter this year.
