I remember that story. I'm amazed that a puppy so young can be in that condition, the abuse/neglect must have started at birth.
My guess is that the puppy was given as a gift to someone mentally ill, and the new owner never touched him or cared for him. He/she just left him in his crate until, one day, they decided they better put him out. And that's when he was found by the lady from the rescue agency, who did not expect him to live through the night. An equally miraculous thing to her survival is what has happened to the life of the little autistic Jonny, whose family adopted Xena.

This is just so horrible. My heart cannot even fathom this poor puppy's pain ... Thank God for the good humans on this earth who have all worked for the recovery of Xena and have finally found her a forever home.

I meet so many wonderful dog owners everyday at the park and almost all of them have rescued dogs and are working really hard everyday to make their lives normal again. I wish every household would bring home at least one rescue puppy. They are so easy to love. All they want is food, shelter and a little bit of exercise.

Thank you for the share Alex. It was however painful to see the photos of her starved.
