I thought I'd post this picture. I took it on the way home from Vancouver. it was taken 3 minutes before the Kickinghorse Pass. I have to say, it was an interesting trip. I had a 1 hour delay where they shut the Trans Canada down 4km east of Revelstoke because of a collision that shut both lanes down. At Kamloops there was a car engulfed in flames on the side of the road, and then this truck.
I left Vancouver in the early morning to avoid campers and motorhomes, but sometimes, plans fail LOL. By the time I hit Golden BC, the camper to car ratio was 3 to 1. But it was still pretty cool. At least now I know what the under side of a big truck looks like.

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I had the gauges put in with that gauge pod. Much nicer, now they are eye level. I have done lots of mods to it. They are fun cars, especially on the open road. And I have to say, with the wide track, it sure handles awesome on the corners in the mountains. :D

not funny

A truck accident isn't funny, alberta drivers don't know how to drive in bc highways. That accident could have been cause by a alberta driver who doesn't understand driving through kickinghorse pass or any mountain pass in bc .

Maybe he fell asleep, lots of truckers run two books and drive 16 hr days . BC drivers are no better or worse then the rest. Also the passes are easy in summer.

No, it's not funny, in fact it freaked me out. All I could think of was, "Lucky it wasn't the next corner with a cliff."
The truck had BC plates. My brother is a truck driver, from Alberta who spends just as much time in BC as he does in Alberta. I know lots of Alberta truck drivers who do quite well in BC. I think the ones to worry about are the ones with motor homes, campers, and travel trailers. No matter what province they are from.
We passed more BC plates doing 10 - 20km under the limit on ideal road conditions than we did Alberta plates. Yeah, it's a different driving style, but I think BC drivers and Alberta drivers are just as good or bad as each other. The one thing i did notice in Vancouver however, is that signal lights and shoulder checks when doing lane changes seem to be optional LOL. In Vancouver they just change lanes blindly. In Calgary they just cut you off out of ignorance. Neither one is any better. It happens everywhere.
