Touching on BBB's thread about the Facebook outage that it did not include all countries east of Poland
it brought to mind the usage of devices, cell phones, Ipad, etc.
Well, there certainly was no outage where I went for a holiday this summer. We were on the West Coast
of Vancouver Island and driving by a privately owned campsite place I noticed all these people sitting
on picnic tables and whatever other means of a chair they could get their hands on around the
main office of this place.
Was wondering what all the fuss was about that so many would be clammored around this little area.
Well, HOLY SHIT it struck me down like a bolt of friggin lightning. :loco: :doh:
I tried to deny what I saw was really happening. I really did. Just for the sake that
the human race still has some interest left in enjoying their immediate surroundings??
I mean we're on the West Coast. Waves pounding the shoreline. Unimaginably endless
natural beauty before your very eyes and the next stop would be Japan. Man it was
glorious to experience what my eyes could take in over there.
But noooo................these folks all sitting around this little shop were deep in touch with
their fucking devices suckin off the wifi of some lowly campsite owner.
I nearly turned around and said to them all, what the hell are you doing? Look around you
and see what you're missing. Or has that not occurred to you that you are surrounded by
some of the most beautiful scenery this entire planet has to offer?
I don't get it, I really don't. I was never so glad to leave behind me that spectacle of uselessness
and get on to the matter at hand. Taking pics later of that salmon catch we enjoyed
bringing on deck that day. It was glorious indeed. Oh and thank christ I had my cell phone
with me to take those pics!! :lol:
