My trainer says that humping is not always about horniness... it can be a display of dominance. She says that a dog can be trained to do this on command, and is very sought after by movie producers!

I will refrain from commenting on the stupidity of putting up that picture......however, I would like to make a point about animals as food(being a vegetarian, and pro animal rights).
I believe ALL animal killing is wrong (I also do not eat seafood), and why stop at killing dogs/cats is wrong... when in fact ALL animals are living creatures and feel pain. (Please no pathetic justifications about plants being alive... as they are not alive in the same way.)
As someone else said... cows and pigs aren't as cute or domesticated as in the case of dogs, cats, and other creatures our culture would not normally eat. I realise that meat is addictive, and the majority of the population will never give it up. I do know a few people, who upon doing reasearch on slaughterhouses etc. have given vegetarianism a shot.

You guys are way too uptight. I thought Sperm's post was funny. I've been a dog owner most of my life. I've also had rabbits and other pets that are eaten as food and I don't have an issue with it. I was born and brought up in Canada (caucasian) but have tried many different types of meats, many from animals that are eaten as food by most societies. We eat beef like there's no tomorrow but to many religions that are very widespread in "OUR" society it is very offensive to them. I think everyone needs to chillout and accept the post for what it was.

pathetic ? It's actually true that plants are alive too. Sure, they don't walk, but does that make them any less life? I am a vegetarian too but I agree plants are alive, and by eating them, I am taking their life. I don't eat meat simply because I never developed taste for it but I don't think by eating plants I am in someway more kind than if I was eating animals. Most animal-eaters don't actually kill the animal themselves and I doubt they'd do that repeatedly if they were asked to.
By living in a city, by living in a house, I've already destroyed lots of life forms like plants/trees, animals that lived there, and so on.
As for dog-picture: Sure, it was a little "eww" but I think if we (although I am a vegetarian) don't object to eating chicken, or beef or something then there really isn't any reason to take offense at that picture. Specially, when it seems to have been posted in a lighter vein. Sure, in North America, dog-meat, snake-meat is not popular but it is so in lot of other cultures (Africa, Asia etc.) and I think people from all backgrounds are registered on this site.
By the way, I want to get a German Sheppard, Lab or Golden Retriever for myself. But my landlord doesn't allow any pets. I may have to move to a different place if I want to get a pet. Also, I am worried about cleaning-up after dog (big dog means big shit). I am not fond of small/tiny dogs much.
