Many of the roads and bridges in Edmonton are a complete clusterfuck.

Speaking of poorly planned cities, were the planners of Van all stoned on BC Bud when they were doing their jobs? Why is it that when I follow a map that shows a street going straight through that I always come to some park that requires me to drive six streets down and four streets over to get back on to the street I was on? How many fuckin Lougheed Highways are there? Why do I have to drive up a mile in order to turn around and come back in order to enter a stripmall driveway? What's with those double flashing green and red lights that allow you to proceed on certain roads. Why do flashing green lights on main roads just mean go, instead of right of way? Why are street signs so small or non-existent. Why does the Telus Map website give me the same directions to go to the Airport, UBC, and Lind Canyon? I'm still trying to figure it all out.

.... sucks alright. but in other aspects vancouver rules. social planning for one. it was the first city in N. America to have a social planning department, and still really quite famous for its projects (minus the granville street mall which was a disaster).
