Too much is too much!! Wise Russian patriarchs have decided that Russian women are too hot, and to reign them in they have declared war on decadent western lingerie! It is time do go back to old moral standards when babushkas were the proud standard bearers of true Soviet femininity!!

Take up arms brothers, and support our Russian comrades in cooling down their hot women!!

First Putin has a problem with "Gays" and now he doesn't like women in lingerie.

Do you think he is over-compensating?

Apparently the law only bans underwear with less than 6% cotton. Most girls know that you don't even WANT to be wearing anything that's 100% synthetic for more than about 15 minutes at a time. Men, if you've ever had to wear a cheap polyester shirt or an acrylic sweater, I'm sure you can understand!

You can still makes lots and LOTS of sexy panties that would fit within that 6% guideline! This could be a great opportunity for some industrious Russians to set up a lingerie line that would conform to the standards and basically have a monopoly on the domestic "cute panty industry".

I think people are allowed to wear what they like. It looks nice on older women but young women would like to wear what they feel confident and sexy in.

Let them go commando :)
Better yet, let them go commando and redefine "lacy panties" as common outerwear. Then they'd have to ban common outerwear altogether unless they can really narrow the definition of non-allowable common underwear. It'll be a legal nightmare, especially since wearing outerwear is probably enshrined in some Human Rights document. Problem solved and both men and women stand to increase their collective happiness!

It is protectionism. They are not worried about lingerie coming in from the west because the average Russian can't afford that. This is directed at the flood of cheap products and knockoffs coming across the border from China, that is what is undermining their local garment industry.

Those women should be careful....in Russia if women protest they are attacked by Cossack thugs with whips.
