Wow. I never expected a sweep. The first time the Canucks have swept a best-of-seven series ever. Sucks to be BJhunter or Hunsperger right about now.

I think it depends on whether the Ducks beat the Sharks and Detroit beats Columbus (they should). If the Ducks don't, I believe San Jose would be our 2nd round opponent.

If the Ducks beat the Sharks, then Canucks will play either Blackhawks or Flames. (otherwise they will meet the Red Wings in Round 2)

I hope they can stay out of the box, they won't be so fortunate on the 5 on 3's against the likes of Detroit. They have been very lucky with the PK so far but its gonna get much tougher and they can be down 2 goals before they even know they are in a game.
It's not so much that they've been lucky on the penalty kill as they've been good on the penalty kill. Your point still stands, though, they absolutely can't afford to take so many penalties in round 2, especially the 5 on 3s.

Game 4

Chicago +1.27 over CALGARY

"Alright, the Flames won 4-2 on Tuesday but frankly, I think they were very fortunate to win in that the second goal was a softie and Mikko Kiprusoff was extremely lucky on a bunch of bounces. I didn’t like the way Kiprusoff played, as he looked very shaky indeed on angles and just his whole demeanor seemed very shaky. The Hawks played a solid game and the Flames took way too many penalties and again, I’m suggesting they were very lucky indeed. I can’t really pinpoint it but I saw something in the Blackhawks in game three that suggests they’ll be absolutely flying tonight. The Flames look so much more vulnerable and what I think we’re witnessing is a very talented Blackhawk team coming of age. The ‘Hawks defense is strong, the offense is deadly and they also have a slew gritty players to go along with it. I believe that the Flames have played their best periods already in this series and tonight they’ll get exposed as being the inferior team and it might not be close. Play: Chicago +1.27 (Risking 2 units)."

why do we care again?
I actually don't mind hearing the opinions of everyone. Provided they don't go overboard starting daily threads. Basically every aspect of the team in round one was pretty good. Luongo is doing well (what is he like 1.25ga and 96% save) not much to bitch about there. Those Sedins, playing just as well or betther than regular season. Nothing spectacular or anything, but certainly nothing to bitch about with their play. Special teams (23% pp, 96%pk) PK is looking good, PP is better than regular season, and St. Louis actually had one of the best PK's during the regular season. Those are the big 3, for most critics. Well Sundin too, but he even got the GW.
I actually think its pretty fortunate, Sundin will actually get about 2 weeks of rest. Who knows maybe that will help him out for round 2.

I agree with Chicago, but you can get way better lines than +1.27.
I have seen +1.37 all day.

I liked how after game two, a blues reporter asked luongo if he could play any better than he has shown and he responded by saying he guess he could've stopped the one in game one :)

If the Sedins can do the same in round 2, Gillis is going to have a tough time convincing them to take 5mil each!

Though I worry about Edler, he's been awfully lucky in round 1, unsteady and running around a bit like a chicken with his head cut off.

Even though we won the last two games, we need Sundin.... It's clear now I think... Demitra, Kesler line is definitely missing his big body.

Maybe, but if he comes back too late he might upset whatever chemistry is already there. (Same thing happpened in TO 2002). The rest of the team has done a lot better than I expected.

I wonder how Pyatt is going to fit back in... For what he's been through, the Canucks will want him playing asap to help him get his life going again.

How it translates to hockey performance? Who knows...

You're talking about a business. The Canucks management are not going to play Pyatt just so he can get his life going again. If he is in game shape, has his focus on the game and gels in practice, then he will play. If not, he will be a healthy scratch, regardless of what is going on in his personal life. Personally I don't think he has much to offer the Canucks if Sundin is ready for the second round. The Canucks record has been especially amazing since Pyatt left.

I'd sit the guy out the rest of the year...he is the weakest link on the Canucks! Then get rid of him in the off season...
