After a great deal of careful consideration and conversations with others, I figured I would put this post together, not just as a rant, but as a serious discussion of markets and service providers. We all know that there are excellent services available in Edmonton and Calgary, but what happens to Red Deer? We have a strange market here that, one would think, should appeal to many SPs. There are approx 15000 men here working in some type of oil field related industry, the lowest of which probably make 50k a year or so, and yet this market is woefully serviced. Available are a few well established agencies and I believe 1 MP. Service is not really on par with our two neighbor cities, and best of luck trying to find a DFK, DATY, Greek, or for that matter a good GFE. Donation rates are substantially higher then either other city, and customers are continually subjected to mid-game up-sells and service disappointments. Men repeatedly say to hell with it and drive to Calgary or Edmonton, and are provided with better, cleaner service and in a more comfortable financial range. I freely admit to being new to much of this, and as a few of you girls can attest suffer from terminal in person shyness, so my opinions may be coming out of left field. But ladies the bottom line is that there are a lot of cars coming out of here and heading either north or south. Mine among them.
