So, lets assume joe blow only goes to higher-end SPs that take good care of themselves and are diligent about getting tested regularly. Let's say shes goes every 5 weeks.

During those 5 weeks the SP sees an average of 2-3 guys on her 'work days', lets say 4 days a week, so 8-12 guys a week, minus her 'off-week'. We'll take the lower daily number so 8*4 = 32 guys she's been with since her last testing cycle.

SURELY, after banging 30+ guys, assuming standard restrictions (bbbj/daty allowed but no bbfs), at some point at least one of those 30+ guys would have given her something. Most likely candidates of course gonorrea/chlamydia/herpes.

Now as the pooner, really you're just playing the game of where in the 'cycle of pooners' do you fall. Are you before the 1 in 30+ that gives her something or after? it would certainly be of benefit to know her last test results but I highly doubt anyone asks nor would an SP even want to discuss it.

That leads me to think that:
a.) getting one of those 3 STIs (or worse) is almost a guarantee at some point depending on your pooning frequency
b.) even the higher end SPs surely must be on antibiotics almost all the time
or c.) i am totally off-base in my thinking of how prevalent gonorrea/chlamydia/herpes is.
or d.) most of the SPs/pooners already have one or more of those 3 STIs and either don't know or just dont care/live with it?

And the reason I blab on about this is I recently had my first full poon experience and had a scare that sent me to the clinic twice to get tested (both negative thankfully) in which the whole time was thinking ' was i really that unlucky to catch something on my first time? ' or 'maybe it's not luck at all and just a given..?'

I guess i'm just struggling to figure out how 'safe' this hobby is in reality. Sure you can read all the health nurse posts and all the posters of what can be transmitted during which sex act yada yada but none of that really dives into the prevalency of STIs when it comes to this sort of thing... until you ask the people doing it, and I'm not sure there's ever really been a study on it; obviously most people would not talk freely about this kind of thing.

Constantly fighting the internal battle of realllly wanting to partake & enjoy this hobby while also fearing the potential consequences immensely.

I think it sometimes comes down to the diseases not being passed every single bbbj incidence, and rarely passed back to the man even if the lady has it in her throat.

There is probably some truth also in that the average pooner, who can afford going to these sessions, are not the population to be carrying a ton of diseases.

And that condoms are pretty good for covered FS. I'd hope.

I've had this subject posted before and most johns claim they've never gotten anything pooning, assuming condom is always used for FS. So do we take precautions and take care of our self? Yes, dont be a fool, wrap your tool. But do we act like every lady's crotch is a death trap? Probably not.

Part of the scare would come from guilt, and over analyzing of symptoms you've never cared about. Did you ever care if you've furiously masturbated and your dick hurts a little? Probably not. Does it burn a bit when you pee? Well are you a chronic coffee drinker (well know urinary irritant), or ate spicy food, and just never used to care when it feels a little different when you pee? Sometimes its really just that.

First thing I think you're buying into stereotypes a bit. Safe sex works. If that wasn't the case this industry would be riddled with disease as would all the world. I was in a LTR with a working SP. While we don't know the exact number of men she had over the course of her career it was in the thousands I'm sure. Number of times she was infected with an STI? Zero. She practiced safe sex and insisted on it. I've known a decent number of SP's in my life. It comes with the territory. Every single women I knew was adamant about safe sex and practiced it religiously.

Generally when you're new to this industry you're always really wary of the risk of disease. You have your first session, you freak out, you get tested and call the HIV line & read up about everything looking for a symptom. The women do the same too when they start in the business. Make sure your provider is together, speaks English & insists on safe sex. If a woman implies she's willing to perform BBFS for you in her ad, run away. If she does it for you she'll do it for anyone. I've always viewed the women willing to perform unprotected sex as wanting to give you something.

The general consensus is that the prevalence of STI's in sex workers is the same or lower than the general population and the SP is very likely going to insist on safe sex. That is not the case with the woman down at the club or that you meet online. If I think back to online dating or picking up women a few insisted on safe sex but it was for reasons of pregnancy not disease. Some were even surprised I wanted to cover up. You aren't playing Russian Roulette in this business you're playing it out there in the dating world.

A lot of the extra fun we want to have in life, all has risks in one form or another. A responsible drinker can get hit by an impaired driver going home from the bar.
But there is many things one can do to reduce the risks, such as enjoying your time with an SP that is responsible in her practice. Much in the same way a tattoo shop will sterilize
their tools. All you can do, instead of being so desperate to take dangerous risks, is simply have the patience to seek out those responsible ones. But keep something else in mind.
Even a serious STD, like HIV can be transmitted through bodily fluid, like saliva exchange with your tongues stuck in each others mouth. It's all a risk, like walking out your
door and getting hit by a bus. I know someone who worked as a dishwasher in a restaurant who contracted Hep C simply from doing his job and not taking precautions.
Enjoying this hobby will never come with 100 percent safety. If a person is that concerned about it, then he or she only has one option for that guarantee. Abstain from it all.

I agree I was just going to say that, its rarely passed to the male receiver so thats why most guys have nothing to worry about. It's the SP's who are the greatest risk when they treat every single client like a real boyfriend and engage in lots of fluid swapping activities. When you step back and look at it from a health conscious point of view, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

I disagree with just about all of that. But given the high likelihood of this thread being reported and locked soon or even disappearing entirely there's no point in me writing a long winded reply.

Sorry folks, we don't allow medical information to go too far around here, no one is an expert or really all that qualified to give advice. Play safe is about all we allow. OP, talk to your doctor or someone at an STI clinic near you. PERB is not the right forum for medical advice. We used to have a health nurse who posted here, but they have been gone for some time now. Closed thread.
