I just can't comprehend how anyone- except maybe the elderly or infirm- could fall for shit like this.
Why would ANYONE ever need someone else's PIN to credit an account?
And with the CRA- you either gave them your banking info for Auto deposit with your tax return, or you didn't.
If you did- they don't need to ask. The "extra" would get deposited.
If you didn't- why would you now? The "extra" would be included in the revised mailed out cheque.
Sounds like this was probably the young lady's first ever tax return experience?
