Here's what it's like when President Obama gets mad

When he's mad, President Barack Obama gets eerily quiet.

Reggie Love, a 26-year-old former Duke University football and basketball star improbably became then-Senator Obama's right-hand man during his first presidential campaign in 2007. Love went on to work as Obama's personal aide for five years, crisscrossing the nation with America's future president, serving him meals, carrying around his luggage, buying him clothes, challenging him on the basketball court, and babysitting for his children.

In a new memoir, " Power Forward: My Presidential Education ," Love discusses being by Obama's side "on the campaign trail when no one believed in him" and in the "seconds before stepping onstage to be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America." Though most of the stories are positive, Love also shared stories of what it was like to upset the president.

Here are some of the times Love saw Obama's angry side.

Losing Obama's wallet and briefcase

In 2007 after a fundraiser in Florida, Love accidentally misplaced then-Senator Obama's Tumi briefcase containing his keys, wallet, credit cards, and notes he needed for his coming debate in South Carolina. "The plane was airborne, the bag was missing, and I proceeded to have a full-blown panic attack," Love writes. "Sweat began to bleed through my clothes. My heart raced like a cornered rabbit. In my head I prayed he wouldn't notice, that I'd have time to find the bag and by some miracle get it back to him before he realized it had vanished." Love was able to contact a campaign finance assistant who then notified a Secret Service agent about the missing bag.

The team was able to recover the Tumi briefcase and send it with a campaign member who was also en route to watch the debate in Columbia. "When we landed in Columbia, I was feeling a modicum of relief, believing maybe disaster had been averted, maybe this would all resolve without any drama, and it was precisely at that moment that the candidate turned to me and said, 'Hey Reg, where's my bag?' I went with, 'It's on its way.' ' What do you mean 'on the way? ' he asked. 'It's coming from Florida,' I said. 'You left my briefcase in Florida,' he stated, incredulous."

Love describes what seemed to be the worst part about upsetting Obama, the silence. "The silence, felt worse than being reprimanded," Love writes. "As we rode to the Columbia campaign headquarters without another word passing between us I thought, That's it, I'm fired. I kept hoping he would break the tension and yell at me."

Once they arrived at the campaign office, Obama asked for a private room so that he could have a meeting with Love. With a calm and "even and firm" voice, Obama began: "Listen, Reggie, I think you're a great guy. But, (Obama paused and leaned forward) if you're not up to doing this job, I can get someone else to do it. You have one job and if I have to worry about all this stuff, then you're not making it easy for me to do my job. "Get your act together, Reggie. Help me do my job," he said as he rose from the table and walked out of the room.

Overbooking Obama's schedule

In December 2007, Obama's schedule was filled with back-to-back campaign events that ran over the allotted time limit. Love was responsible for informing various organizations that the candidate would be tardy but was unable to do so. "Obama turned to me and said through tight teeth, 'Reggie, this is messed up.' And I, cracking from the day and the stress and the hours still left to go, stupidly replied 'Well, if you didn't stay so long at the luncheon, we wouldn't have this problem.' The air went still. It was like that eerie calm before a tornado swoops in and levels your entire house. Nobody said anything."

According to Love, Obama then turned to aide Marvin Nicholson and said "Marvin, talk to Reggie because I am not having this conversation with him."

Indonesia: House for sale comes with 'free wife'

An estate agent in Indonesia has advertised a house with an unusual sweetener thrown in for free – the hand of the owner in marriage.

The internet advert for the single storey two bedroom property, says that it comes with a rare "rare offer" – "when you buy the house you can ask the owner to marry you."

Owner Wina Li, a 40-year-old widow and beauty salon owner is pictured leaning against a car in front of the house.

The house, which also boasts a spacious back garden and garage, is situated in Yogyakarta, in Java island, and is on the market for IDR999 million (around $95,000 CAD).

"Buy at the asking price and take the owner as your wife (terms and conditions apply)" runs the tagline.

The advert has gone viral on social media in Indonesia, with thousands sharing the advert.

Wina has told local media that she was happy to go along with the offer as she was "looking for a husband anyway."

The mother-of-two told AFP that the police had even inquired about the advert.

The police "came to verify the news as they consider it as an improper advertisement. But I explained to them that it was not my idea," she said.

She said she only originally intended the estate agent to tell friends that she was looking for a buyer, and also a husband, but didn't expect him to advertise the fact.

"I told a friend of mine who also works as property agent that if there is a buyer who is a single man or a widower who wants to buy a house, and at the same time look for a wife, he can let me know as I'm also a widow," she said.

Estate agent Dian Purna Dirgantara told Time that if someone just wanted to buy the house, they were under no obligation to marry Wina.

"Since yesterday morning there are continuous calls, I don't count how many, there must be dozens or even hundreds," he said.

"[But] if someone just wants the house, they can have that."

No More Hide and Seek in Ikea :(

Ikea has a message for people wanting to converge on its stores for giant games of hide and seek: Go play someplace else.

The phenomenon has taken off online in the Netherlands where a whopping 19,000 people signed up to a Facebook group promoting a game at Ikea's Amsterdam branch next month. Another 13,000 signed up for a game in the Ikea store in the city of Utrecht.

But the Swedish retail giant has bad news for folks wanting to hide among its room-like furniture displays: The numbers signing up are getting out of hand and the events have been blocked. "We have contacted these pages on social media and humbly asked them to have their hide and seek games somewhere else," Ikea spokeswoman Martina Smedberg in Sweden said Tuesday.

Ikea doesn't want to be a spoilsport, but safety comes first. "In general we are happy that our customers are playful and want to have fun together with friends and family," Smedberg said. "But unfortunately this hide and seek phenomenon has reached proportions where we can no longer guarantee the security of those who are playing or our customers and employees."

Ikea also doesn't think it's funny when you hang your cowboy hat over the fake display bathroom, that has no door...And take a big leak, in their fake display shiny toilets ..that don't flush.

Well...Yes, I didn't see it in time, and my boots got a little soggy.
I thought they kicked me outta there because I went to eat my Ikea Cafe' dinner at the kitchen display...I mean , if they didn't want you to eat in the displays...Why would they stock the kitchens with knives and forks?
The big city is so confusing.

‘Sextortion’ cases on the rise in Richmond, prompting warning from RCMP

VANCOUVER – Sextortion cases are on the rise in Richmond, prompting a warning from the RCMP.

Mounties say in these cases, the victims have been befriended online after visiting a companionship or dating website. The suspect then entices the victim to perform intimate acts, streamed over webcam or on mobile, but the victim does not know they are being secretly recorded. The suspect then threatens to release the video online unless the victim pays them.

RCMP have provided some clues about how to determine if you could be involved in this type of crime:
  • Contact is made through various social companionship or dating websites, generally free ones.
  • Initial contact may be fairly innocuous and may not involve an intimate component for days or weeks.
  • The suspect may have a number of reasons to avoid meeting in person or will only be able to talk/chat at certain hours, usually odd hours.
“It is important for the public to be aware that this type of crime is occurring,” said Const. Quinn Provost of the Richmond RCMP Serious Crimes Unit. “At the same time, it is important that any victims have a support network available. Feelings of hopelessness and shame are common for victims of this type of crime. It is important to be able to speak to someone about the incident – whether it is a parent, partner, sibling, friend, mental health professional or crisis worker.”

Richmond RCMP has some tips if you are a victim of this type of crime:
  • Contact the police immediately.
  • Do not send any money to the suspect.
  • Prevention is possible – abstain from being intimate online or by not sharing intimate photos online.
If you or anyone you know is a victim of this type of crime, contact Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212. To leave a tip on this crime or any other, email Richmond_Tips@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Not funny, she went too far and could have killed him. All it takes is for the guy to hit his head on the concrete and crack his skull.
Doing shit like that in front of a camera suggests she is nuts or high.
I don't know whether anyone got ripped off but she doesn't look very one.
