I came across some clips of this on the internet and, although I don't know how interest people are in seeing this, thought that I'd share it. The Haka is a Maori tribal war dance that is performed by New Zealand national rugby teams before each game and is considered one of the great spectacles of sport, although outsiders to the sport might think it silly. But I've always thought it to be an incredible way of setting the tone before a test match and still get chills every time I see it.

This is a link to the same Haka but led by Taine Randall. Out of all the captains that I've seen lead it, he always struck me as having the best interpretation of the Haka.

The girls at the Whitehouse in Auckland do a haka- it's pretty cute.

I went to a touristy one once, it was pretty cool, but I liked the female poi-dance version better.

I agree that it's a great tradition for the All Blacks though- no doubt it has a liiittle bit to do with their cohesiveness as a team.

What's the Whitehouse, is that a strip club? I would agree that the poi-dance is much easier on the eyes. The Woman's rugby team has their own haka. I haven't seen it in it's entirety but from what I've seen it is much softer than the men's.

I think what I like about the AB's haka is that it's such a cool way of issuing a challenge, laying down the gauntlet while still paying homage and respect to the Maori culture and heritage.

I really like it. could you imagine that before the start of a hockey game?
Man, you can find everything on the internet!

I kept on waiting for someone to slip and fall. I imagine that would certainly diminish the gravity of the moment.
