The most basic newbie question

I am looking for what the standard procedures
are at the more upscale massage parlors
in Vancouver (Cleo's, Swedish touch etc.)
e.g. what is included at the base price
quoted on the web page? At what state
of dress is the SP? Does the SP bring up extras
upfront or does the client have to take the initiative?

I will be visiting Vancouver in the near future. I
read the newbie guide at PERB and the home pages
of several massage parlors. I also tried searching
for "newbie" "faq" etc on PERB. But that didn't answer
my question very well. This seems like the most
basic of newbie questions.

The standard drill
for massage parlors can be very different in
different cities. I have been to Toronto and
know the standard drill there.
The homepages for Toronto massage parlors are
much more direct about what is included in a session.

Any Vancouver natives want to help out some of
us poor traveling professionals.

i havn't been to cleo's or touch in a long time but as i remember going there you enter and are greeted by the hostess. Usually not available for you. At that time any available girl will come out and display themselves for you in a line or sit on a nearby couch. They are all wearing lingerie of some sorts. The base price you see on websites is for ROOM time only. Costs of the girls are stated by the girl while >IN< the room. Standard rates "the lower ones" are for the basic rooms. The VIP rooms include things like roman themes, berlesque, chinese, mirror rooms etc.. The cost of the FS and whatever you may be looking for again is stated by the lady you are with in the room.
When i went in i started to get a massage and the girl politely asks if i've been there b4 and if i knew the "specials" then she told me when i said i was interested.
Again i havn't been to one of these massage parlours in awhile so things could of changed. But this is how i remembered it.

More direct answer to your question about being upfront. If you're more experienced in the pooning area.. just bring it up tactfully but straight forward. This is what these MP's are known for. If your a bit shy and not sure..then wait for the lady to dangle a carrot in front of you.

5punki is correct on all accounts. The fee quoted is for the room, and will vary depending on the type of room you select. A standard massage or dancing is usually included in that fee as well (no touhing her, and no erotic touching of you).

Standard fees for additional services are

though those may vary slightly. DATY and DFK are not standard, however YMMV on that one.

FS:
If you are looking for caucasian ladies, then I recommand Temtation on no.3 rd in Richmond, standard room with all inclusive price and no hidden extra cost unless you are into something that needs extra dough before the girl willing to do it for you. it runs about $150-200. You can choose the girl from the line-up.
If asian treat is for you are after, then I will refer you to Swan, Kingdom, or JJ, they all have standard charges, you should not pay no more than $150 to $180 max. for the extra plus the room fee $40-50. So either way the costs are about the same. You ca choose the girl by peeking through the window of the staff room.
For massage w HJ:
I would suggest to try the BlueSea spa on no.3 road. fee is running at $40-45 per 45min.session plus extra tips to the girl, if only basic HJ, it will cost you $40 extra. You can not pick girl from the lin-up but read the reviews, abd you pretty well decide which girl you would like to try.
I am front Richmond Area , so I recommand these places.
For Micros,
I would suggest that you familiar with Vancouver before you venture into such outfit unless you have buddies to bring you along.

Be forewarned that the Vancouver MP culture is quite different from Toronto. Where in TO the standard rate for a 1/2 hr is $40 and 1 hr is $60, and extras usually go for 20/40/60 or 40/60/80 and 80 is for NR and no more; in Vancouver the room price can be anywhere from $40-$100+ and tips generally start at $60 or $80. Places like Cleo's/Swedish Touch get very expensive.

In Vancouver there is almost no difference between an MP and an indy escort incall in the kinds of service that can be negotiated. Of course some MPAs in TO do offer more (BJ and maybe FS), they risk getting busted in a big way and professional ostracization. In Vancouver the main difference is at an MP you can do a "walk-in".

IMO there are hardly any MPAs in Vancouver who are as skilled in the art of tease and massage as Toronto. Here it's all about "mileage", while in TO there's a significant portion of the market that appreciates 20 minutes of sensual massage and teasing followed by 10 minutes of safe & slippery fun.

IMO Indy incall is a better value in Vancouver than massage studios. However the convenience factor does win out sometimes.

To answer some questions, I am from the US.
On the not so frequent occasion that I get up to Canada,
I am sufficiently middle class that I am
quite happy to spend a bit more if it will increase the
chances of a good experience.

It sounds like the massage parlors in Vancouver are not for me.
I am not interested in FS. I like the modus operandi of
the Toronto massage parlors: Some teasing, some massage,
and a hand finish is all I am looking for.

I find it interesting that the state of affairs is so different
in Vancouver and Toronto. I wonder if there is some reason
for this, or just random chance that things developed differently
in the two cities.
