Whether it's drivers running red lights, people pissing on war memorials, boom cars disturbing everyone they drive past or ringing cell phones and talking in theatres the morons have well and truly won. Bad behaviour is so accepted now there is no hope of ever returning to civilized bahaviour. If anyone dares to complain or challenge the ones who think they are so special whatever "they" do trumps whatever anyones else wants we risk a knife to the ribs or a boot to the head. There isn't even a standard among thugs any more. Two on one? three on one? ten on one? no shame there. The more cowardly they are the more the feeding frenzy increases. Sorry for the rant, but the daughter of a friend was beaten by two "men" for daring to ask these heroes not to swear in front of her 10 year old neice and I am so pissed. This wasn't here, but I see the same situations every day and there never seem to be any consequences for these things except for the victims.

I pretty well agree with everything CT said, but he got the thread title wrong. These people aren't morons - morons are too dumb to know any better. These people are self-centred pricks who think the rules don't apply to them.
IMO, we need to revive the concept of shame. Instead of giving these pricks jail sentences, or flogging them, humiliate them! Don't give them an opportunity to be seen as victims by the bleeding hearts.
What if the monument pisser had to parade around the memorial wearing a sign that carried his name and address, and stated what he did? Do you think he'd ever do something like that again? I don't. Do the same with other assholes who behave like jerks or commit minor crimes like shoplifting. This has been tried in some parts of the USA. Shoplifters have to parade up and down the block where they live wearing signs that say, "I am a thief". Some of them actually beg the judges to give them a jail sentence, rather than face the opprobium of their friends and neighbours.
The fear of humiliation is a very powerful motivator.

This happened last week in London (the original one). It was outside a corner shop. One guy punched her in the head and slapped her, the other kicked her in the hip, ripped her shirt and pushed her down before they scurried bravely away. Someone called police, but they couldn't find them. The little girl was in hysterics and my friend's daughter, who is 23 was in shock. She apparently ended up with a bloody nose, a lump on her head and a black eye. There was a boot mark left on her side. I always wonder what kind of people raise that kind of brain-dead wastes of space. My friend is a former soldier in the British army and I really hope he finds the pricks. I feel no pity for what awaits them. Boorish behavior by people who think no one matters but themselves does indeed seem to be on the rise. I don't hold out much hope of this trend being reversed either. When parents dote on their children, give them everything they want/ask for out of fear of not being loved by them, never so much as suggest that bad behaviour should be subject to discipline, blame others for any bad thing the children do, etc etc ... the list goes on and on ... it should come as no surprise that the end result is totally self-centered pricks who don't even grasp the concept of being considerate of others. Not to continue my hijacked thread, but windows up or down the purpose of a boom car is to pound the ground. I have one in my neighbourhood I can hear and feel blocks away.
