The coastal gas link pipeline which the radical left environmentalists have targeted as their next project to shut down despite all approvals in place is intended to get LNG to Asian markets to displace use of coal. LNG is a much cleaner fuel and would reduce emissions, however this seems of no concern to those who are out to save the planet. Shows me this is not their concern at all but are hypocritical dupes acting on behalf of someone behind the scenes to cripple the Canadian energy industry.

... at the same time, Canada sells offshore drilling rights to China. I'm sure it is a great news to Canadian energy industry as well as to the environmentalist knowing the Chinese will be very careful not to make mess here ..... not.

That has nothing to do with coastal gas link pipeline protesters breaking the law and getting away with it.

The idiots who are on the frontlines of this are paid off by enviro groups funded by Big Oil in the US, those guys are reaping the profits that should be flowing into Canada’s coffers!

Exactly, yet no one has the balls to stand up to them. Has Canada turned into a nation of sheep with a spineless leader at the helm? Looks like it to me.

Says the guy whose propaganda comes straight from the Koch Bros, by way of Jason Kenney's "war room". Are Alberta taxpayers getting their $30 million worth, paying you to come on PERB and post this stuff every day? It's not very original.

Yeah I guess you have no idea about the Tides Foundation which is a USA special interest group that channels money into Canadian environment special interest groups and the Tides Foundation is bankrolled by the Rockefeller family.

Any Canadian that takes money from a foreign special interest group to fight against the National Interests of Canada with regards to energy development as well as infrastructure for that energy is a fucking TRAITOR....150 years ago they would be tried for sedition and hung.

Who shows up at protests?Well the actual people who are protesting as well as paid professional protesters....oh yeah and in Vancouver and the lower mainland also RICH guilty feeling WHITE Liberals who want to wash away some sin but wont give away the multi-generational wealth they have to "save the planet"....those same assholes are of course driven by the attitude of NIMBY because it might make their tony neighborhoods a tad bit blighted.

I say the RCMP should have acted carte blanche the next day after the injunction was issued and arrested ALL of them and cleared the entire area. All 20 First Nations on the pipeline route from the regular members to the Band Councils and all of the Elected Chiefs support and endorse and actively WANT this pipeline to go forward as they have signed agreements and ALL will financially benefit from top to bottom. The "hereditary" chiefs are against it and guess what..the Tides Foundation is bankrolling them and they have WHITE professional protesters in their ranks.

This has been going on for years. It should be illegal for ANY foreign special interest group to channel money into Canada for any reason.

Global News tonight asked one of the protesters "what is in the pipes" and she replied Bitumen. He said, no, it's natural gas. She had no idea why she was there.

Hey Vancouverman..... Long time no see.

Did the 'institution' give you a day pass for good behavior to be able to come on here ?

Nice to 'see' you.

Highlights the fact how clueless most of them likely are. Why they’re being allowed to continue makes no sense.

What I would like to actually say would get me banned for the final time....as in PURGATORY.

On a different tangent....OH how virtuous it is or how VIRTUE signalling it is that all of these protests have popped up(how much foreign money involved wont be discovered).....save the planet etc....support the "hereditary" Chiefs even though ALL Wetsuweten members of the Nation and it's elected Council as well as it's elected Chief are ALL behind the pipeline and want to go forward with the project.

This is nothing more than Canada's affairs being hijacked by foreign money influencing Government decisions in Canada and it started in 2006 when the Oilsands really heated up.It started to simmer in 1998 when I moved here and Alberta just lit up and caught on fire.Once the Oilsands got fired up so did the rhetoric against them....calling it "dirty oil" and at the same time paying no attention to the human rights abuses in the middle east.Pay no attention about the most stringent environmental policies on the planet it is the "dirty" oilsands. It has now extended to pretty much ALL energy projects with the GASLINK pipeline that has been approved and ALL parties are on the same boat about.I guess Trudeau will have to ask his wife if he can take his balls out of her purse to deal with this.

It is utterly fucked that a pipeline of any kind cant be built in Canada without feeling the impact of foreign induced influence.

The Northern Gateway/Trans mountain/Keystone XL/Energy East as well as GASLINK should have been proposed 20 years ago with the idea of expanded markets.Instead Canada is a pariah because we have the largest oil spill on the planet we are trying to clean up and NOW BC natural gas is targeted as an "evil" fossil fuel.....how do you like wearing that? For years Alberta has been trying to get an already existing pipeline twinned and expanded.....and now BC stands on the cusp of being one of the biggest exporters of LNG.....and BC gets slapped with BS protests that are fueled by money from a USA special interest group which is the Tides Foundation. How do you like it?Alberta has been dealing with these assholes for 14+ years now.Since the shoe is on the other foot how does it feel?

I am fully in the support of the GASLINK pipeline and I truly hope it proceeds. It is good for the National Interest of Canada and good for BC as an economic driver.

I heard a retired cop say the police will just let the protesters do what they want, as long as there is no violence, or destruction of property, then they'd get an injunction and make arrests.

First - why would an injunction be needed? If I sat down in an intersection, the first cop who came by would arrest me. Why is it these anarchist groupd get a free pass?

Second - What's the definition of destruction of property? Not making a mediccal appointment? Not delivering time-sensitive goods? Delaying fire trucks or ambulances? Preventing people from getting to jobs? Keeping people from makng plane or ferry connections? Those are all destructivem and possibly fatal for some.

The native bands are being silenced by professional protestors and the ancient indigenous chiefs, who want to live like it's 1700, except for their electricity, indoor plumbing, SUV's, computers and smartphones. The case was already decided in Supreme Court, and the indigenous chiefs lost, so they just ignore the ruling.

I love the s(c)heer ignorance the right displays when they develop and repeat conspiracy theories to label and try and dismiss the actions of protesters (or anyone else that disagrees with them).

If you live in Vancouver and have a balanced social circle, you probably directly know someone that is participating in active protest and know that they aren't being paid. I am not going to defend the protesters' positions or comment on their knowledge of the issues, but I can confirm with 100% certainty that the protestors are not paid.

Personally, I think that the Wet'suwet'en need to reach some kind of consensus on who represents their interest or hold a referendum on the project, but I am not Wet'suwet'en and it is their unceded territory, so it is solely their decision as to how to proceed.

I think that means very little coming from an ambiguous member on this forum. I've seen accurate reporting that those protestors belong to various groups which receive funding from questionable Left wing groups. Yeah I guess that means they are paid. When they goto court, let see who pays for their legal fees

It’s the organizers and leaders of those groups that get the funding, who knows how it’s distributed amongst the protesters, seems not many of them have jobs that’s for sure.

Oh, you mean my university student niece and her friends? Or one of my siblings? Or my retired friend who is an environmentalist and a longtime supporter of First Nations rights? Did you listen to CBC radio this morning, one of the organisers that they interviewed is a Master's student at UBC.

Prove it big man.....show us you are not just all talk.... All speculation, conjecture, or anecdotal. Like saying 'I have a Black friend lol..

And while we are all making fake claims, your claim of 100% certainly is as beleiveable as my 13" cock, 9 Billion dollar bank account, 8 wives, Royal Crown, and luxury yacht. We know for a fact they are not paying for their own legal bills to get out of jail, and these groups that organize these protests GET dark funding..FaCT
