The hairless look on men seems creepy to me

I can't imagine a time when back hair was fashionable so I get it.
Trimming the pubes makes sense for several reasons.
And chest hair was the latest to go.

But as I stood in a Safeway lineup I noticed a mid 50s guy with a typical middle age body wearing shorts that were short enough that you could see his legs were shaved from his ankles to well above his knee where his shorts sat.

I've been around gyms forever and know body builders, physique competitors and swimmers are hairless for obvious reasons but WTF?!

The guy I saw wasn't a one off. I see that look more and more. Can't imagine women prefer that look. The maintenance time to upkeep that look must be nuts.

Oddly enough alopecia or hair loss on the legs is common on middle aged men so the person you saw may not have shaved. From the "Journal of Trichology" "Anterolateral leg alopecia is very common in middle-aged and elderly men but may also occur in women. A previous study estimates the prevalence of anterolateral leg alopecia among males as high as 35%." It is hairloss on the lower legs. Common causes are poor circulation, it is more common in long time smokers.

Yeah...we're not talking about hair loss or any related condition. Some guys are 30 or under and it's very noticeable when their 5 o'clock shadow is quite thick but their legs are completely hairless.

It seems like a fairly new trend...maybe the last few years or less. Apart from it seeming really labor intensive, it really doesn't look natural to me.

right here and now
Maybe shaving his legs is a pre-cursor to shaving his balls- to throw his wife off his extra-curricular activities?
Or he likes pulling on some thigh-highs in his spare time to satisfy himself- or his High Priestess- eh, Miss H.?

Lots of different ethnic men don't sport a lot of body hair. Many Asians and African men have little body hair.

I started cleaning off my legs the first time at 13 when I went for a slide tackle on a turf field, was a bloody mess and got sat out rest of the game, now I run a trimmer over my whole body every 3 weeks minimum in the summer just cause I look bigger
