I thought we could have some fun with this. If nothing else, it will bring back memories. The "Greatest Canuck Thread" has seen some great posts, but us real Canuck fans have had to endure some unbearable seasons. Even some of the great Canuck teams have had some players that would make you cringe. I would like to hear from the peanut gallery on which players from the Canucks' past and present would make the top 5 "pylons" (a player who had no business being on the ice because the opposition would skate figure 8's around his Neanderthal presence). This poll is not limited to defencemen, but they are likely to be the prime target. I suppose we can also target the biggest Canuck disappointments. I'll start with Juri Bubbla ... remember how he pigged out on hotdogs and couldn't adapt to a free-society lifestyle by not having a communist coach tell him what to do every minute of the day. Let's hear your picks ...

I think you are meaning Vladamir Krutov- my vote is for Dana Murzyn.

apologies to Bubbla

I believe you are right. It was so long ago, but Krutov was the guy I was thinking of. Thanks. Now that I have had time to think about it, Bubbla didn't have that bad of a career with the Canucks.

Jim Sandlak is only one comes to mind. Not much of a 1st rounder ( 4th overall ) he was actually one spot ahead of Dana Murzyn.
The Canuckleheads held onto him because of how they got burned by the Cam Neely deal. I remember Glen Sather tried trading for Sandlak several times.

Jiri still lives in capitalist Vancouver. Seems he's become adapted to it.

I can see some out there eventually mentioning the sisters.... but I have to put up players like Slegr, Muckalt or Scatchard (remember, I'm no Canucklehead and haven't really ever followed the team - I'm sure there's many others more worthy of the 'pylon' label than I've mentioned).

I'm wondering about goalies; Vancouver is and has always been a goalie-graveyard. Any future polls concerning netminders?
