I can't believe this jerk is still running for mayor.
His defenders say his private life shouldn't interfere with being mayor, but a city employee would be fired for doing what he did, and the issue isn't the sexting, anyway - it's his repeated lies about not doing it. He has a credibility problem, a serious problem with common sense and a disastrous relation ship with judgement.

Honestly, the guy is not ready to make a comeback in the political arena. End of story.
The real problem I have with this whole Weiner controversy is how much attention the media is giving Sydney Leathers. She's going around giving all these interviews, pretty much making up shit just to get some attention and recognition. It's absolutely disgusting how these women try to capitalize on someone's downfall for their 15 minutes of fame. Same situation with Ashley Dupre when Eliot Spitzer got caught. She tried to victimize herself saying how she has such a hard upbringing blah blah blah to smear Spitzer even more. Bitch please you were making $1000 an hour! You're going to pour salt onto somebody's wound just so you can try to launch your own bullshit career? In no way am I defending the actions of these politicians. Once you decide to become a public figure you're pretty much waiving your rights to some of these vices regular folks get to indulge in. I just have a problem with the media giving these whores a chance to fuck someone's life up even more for their own advances.

Leathers has been exposed as a serial playa for years on sites getting various men to give her money for (what she says) were things like dinner and talking, but nothing else. Given her less than plain looks and pudgy body there are either a LOT of very stupid men (not that difficult to believe) or she was doing more than she's admitting. Even then, it's a stretch someone so unappealing could make much as an SP.

When it comes to your personal private life you can lie all you want IMO - it is no one else's business except for his wife.
I think it is a sad commentary that people actually care about that sort of stuff more than the issues of the day.
I would make an exception in Spitzer's case however, because he was caught doing the exact same thing he made a career out of dragging other people through the mud. So, there was a certain ironic justice, he should be held to the same standard he was holding others to.
