I've been in the states for a while and I don't think there is any improvement from voting in judges. Its almost, in effect, mob rule. Whatever foolish thing people want they get.

Maybe they should just test them regularly. Leave a ten dollar bill on the ground and see if they ask if someone lost some money.

That system just seems like a huge failure to me. Everytime someone is wrongfully convicted the root cause seems to be that the Judges,DAs, and Sheriffs were under pressure to convict someone in a reelection year. The recent Duke rape case fiasco seems to be all the fault of a prosecutor who used it to get reelected.
