I am not a Tom Cruise fan, but i think he would have made a good superman with those eyes of his, he has the strong look and slightly vulnerable looking eyes, which is fitting with superman. But he is short so that doesn't work LOL

Thats what I was thinking when I started reading this....the mans too short.
I dont know Superman should be 6'4" to 6'6", fit with big shoulders.

Christopher Reeves is the best. He looked and had the perfect mannerisms for the part.

Christopher Reeves was the best Superman for me. Before Reeves was chosen, Robert Redford was the one being considered to play the said role. Good thing the latter backed out since he didn't want to be typed-cast to being Superman and that opened doors for Reeves. :)

No insult was intended about the late Christopher Reeve and I forgot about Brandon Routh only to make the poll more fair.
Cruise looks to wimpy to play Superman. And Superman 3 and 4 were much worse than Superman Returns.

Superman: The Movie (1978) is, and will forever be, the definitive Superman movie for generations of movie fans and pop culture fans, now and forever. I still feel goose pimples and feel my heart race when we see Clark Kent rip open his shirt to reveal the Superman crest as he runs into traffic before changing to Superman to rescue Lois and the falling helicopter. That is the definitive Superman rescue scene. There will never be any other rescue scene than can rival or top that.

Sean Connery was Bond, IMO. Roger Moore was the Saint playing Bond.

Sean Connery was Bond, IMO. Roger Moore was the Saint playing Bond.
If you read the books, Bond was supposed to be a cold emotionless, humourless killer type.

While Sean Connery was a more interesting and enjoyable Bond, and really gave some personality to the role, Roger Moore played it more the way the author originally intended, cold blooded and robot-like.

Was Sean Connery a better choice, probably, but he wasn't playing it the way it was written.

My all time favorite though, was Sean Connery as the Russian sub commander in the hunt for Red October. Gotta love Russians with Scottish accents!!! Again, he played it well, but... the accent?

I guess it's abour perception. IMO, Roger Moore played a campy Bond, his last couple movies were almost silly. Lots of one-liners.
To me, Connery came across as a cold ruthless type. I thought George Lazenby was closest to the books (most of which I have read albeit a long time ago).

Any thoughts on Supergirl? I'm hoping they make a new--and far better--Supergirl movie than what we saw in 1984.

Casting will be important if they decide to make a far better Supergirl than the one they did more than 2 decades ago and more profitable as well. Can't just give the lead role to a nobody like Brandon in Superman. If I was the executive producer I'd make Taylor Swift as Supergirl and bring in Taylor Lautner as her partner in the movie and offer 3% of gross revenue to Kanye West to play the villain.

Talking about James Bond, I think Sean Connery and Roger Moore were both great as 007. Spy Who Loves Me was one of my favorites. The successful franchise even became more profitable now with Daniel Craig. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were both cash cows.

Just my personal choice for the hottest Bond Girls. ( no right or wrong answers here )

Hottest Bond Girl: Ukrainian Olga Kurylenko
Hottest Bad Bond Girl: French actress Sophie Marceau
Hottest Bond Girl Minor Role: Caterina Murino, described as " Italy's hottest contribution since Pizza ".

Let's see if Director Sam Mendes will bring in Slumdog starlet Freida Pinto as the next Bond Girl in Bond 23. :) :)

If you look at the original, and even modern versions of the comic book Superman, he looks like a MAN! In that Victor Mature / Burt Lancaster way. Christopher Reeve and the new kid look like pretty boys. I'd like to see a return to the husky, bent-nosed, rugged character for future castings.

Superman: Secret Identity (published January 2005) is one of the best Superman graphic novels I've read. http://www.dccomics.com/dcu/graphic_novels/?gn=2414

It's about a Kansas high school student named Clark Kent who is constantly bullied, teased, and ridiculed by his classmates because he bears the same name as the famous comic book character. But, imagine Clark's surprise when one day he discovers he does indeed possess the famous comic book character's powers . . . .

This graphic novel is intelligently written and absolutely beautifully illustrated. Each panel looks more like a miniature painting than your typical comic book "cartoonish" picture.

Get your hands on a copy if you can. You'll like it. I know you will.
Sounds interesting.

My favourite Superman story Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's All Star Superman:

A series that manages to embrace all the different eras of the Superman mythos and manages to distill them into it's own unique story. The fact that it's done with so much heart as well really makes it one of the few superhero stories I actually felt emotionally invested in.

Can I vote for Tim Daly? :D (He did the voice for the 90's animated series and recently reprised the voice role in the animated movie, "Superman and Batman: Public Enemies")
