Most bands do them either from not being able to write their own songs or IF they can take those songs and OWN them and make them better....Van Halen did it as did David Lee Roth after he left Van Halen...and a shitload of other bands have done it as well.
This is one of my FAVES....the original song was by Hot Chocolate back in the disco era....Bootsauce took this song and OWNED it....they funked up the base and the guitar riffs and added some more fuzz to the electric guitar and they cranked up the funk from 3 to 10 on the funkadelic scale.
