There are so many clothing stores for men and women on Robson street, yaletown, and gastown area nowadays, but where is the best clothing store to go to shop for men or women? This can be a store for casual, formal or trendy. Any fashion guru out there with ultimate wisdom?

Well, what you are asking for is a store that has basically EVERYTHING. Most stores will be more specific so if you are looking for one store for all try something like Holt Renfrew or a department store.

I like a lot of shops in Gastown for shopping, some very nice ones for both men and women. For men try Roden Grey (gray?) for current men's fashions. If you can be more specific about what you are looking for/budget I think we could be of more help.

I like Harry Rosen, they have a wide selection of suits, shirts and casual wear. The staff can be a bit aggressive but the service is good. All depends on what you are looking for

A bit aggressive? Mother bears protecting their cubs could learn a thing or two about agression from the HR men. There have been times I have visited and not bought a suit, but I had to plead various medical emergencies (stigmata, Ebola, and extreme tumescence) to get out the door.

Lol!!! That is so true. It kind of starts by them just telling you to try it on, they spend so much time with you that you feel guilty not buying anything.

Guilt and the fact they can whip out the chalk to mark it up faster than a horny pooner can whip out his cock.

But I have to give them credit trying to make a sale. If I had a business like that, I would rather have salespeople like that as opposed to staff that just sit around do nothing and provide absolutely no service whatsoever

So very true. Vancouver has its share of layabout sales staff

I should have been more clear on my questions. I agree Harry Rosen and Holt Renfrew are good stores to go for formal outfits, but where is the best store for men's casual trendy and stylish clothes? There is a store called "State of mind" on Davies street in downtown with very nice stylish men's clothes, but the owner, Linda, is very strange since she doesn't put any price tags on any clothes and doesn't let you browse by yourself at all!

Thanks for all those input. How about if I want to take a special girl for shopping? No budget, but something casual, but sexy, trendy, and stylish? Clothing store for a girl?

The problem with places like Value Village or Winners is you really have to dig to find something you like with your size or colour.

If you have the time or lots of time on your hands, then it might be worthwhile. Some people like a lot of selection to choose from and see whats best for them

I was in Vegas 3 weeks ago with my special girl and went shopping at the Caesars palace. I guess I just have to take her back there since there is no good suggestion here.

Ted Baker is a pretty cool place to go shopping inside the Caesars Forum Shops. Lots of nice stuff for men and women. Ted Baker dresses up the guys in HBO's Entourage. :)

Ted Baker is located on the newer section of the Caesars Forum Shops. Just above the popular BOA Steakhouse and Sushi Roku. You'll like it there. Great collection of mens and womens wear, excellent service, and most of all free cocktails. :)

One of my best buys at Value Village in Langley is a full length black persian lamb...the same one Betty Davis calls for in one of her movies!!!

I thought, at first glance, that it was a bulky knit, but, when I pulled it out it was bloody heavy...the lady at the cash, a senior gal, dropped her mouth when she saw it and the old fellow behind me said..."do you know what you have there?"...now a younger person wouldn't understand at all...

Mint condition...$20....but, I had a migraine the first time I wore it as it is sooo heavy!

Second great deal....a vintage cotton dress, cut so nicely around the waist and hips and flaring out at the bottom....$5...it was all wrinkly, but my little girl said...try this on mommy! Man, that dress is a head turner, especially with a corset underneath nipping my little waist in even more....

Yes, the thrill of the hunt!

I missed an antique crocodile purse, complete with head...for $60...I just couldn't get past the head!

Now, I am not all that big on labels....perhaps it is the way I was raised and I have done my share of shopping over the years in Value Village or Goodwill. In fact I found my older sons 9th grade grad suit at Goodwill.

I do very much appreciate trendy fashionable clothing but without breaking the bank. I consider myself to be a thrifty shopper.

As far as a trendy women's clothing store....

I can spend hours hunting in Forever 21. The one in WEM is huge and even though it appears a lil chaotic, it is a somewhat organized chaos.

No real designer labels, but nice trendy fashions at reasonable prices.

Smart Set is also a nice store for ladies...the box stores are great...

Lol....shit I'm a women...don't get me started about where to shop!

So, without knowing a lot of information, that's my recommendations for your woman friend...
