I believe people should always vote their conscience and I really don't like any of the three leaders we have to choose from, but I can't see how anyone could vote Liberal given their appalling record. My theory is Vote The Bastards Out and let a new crop of bastards give it a try. Might they be as bad? Yup. Might they be worse? Yup, again, but there is always another election around the corner to vote the new bastards out if they screw up, so why not change the crew and see what happens? Today's editorial in The Vancouver Sun documenting the horrendous state of lost fiiles and indifference to immigrants committing violent crimes should be enough to sway any voter despite Harper's inane comments about same sex marriage. Bringing up Mulroney as a reason not to vote Conservative is like bringing up Chretien as a reason not to vote Liberal. Is Martin Chretien? Is Harper Mulroney? It's a dumb reason to use as justification.

Being outraged isn't a good enough reason to vote out the Liberals. If I thought Harper could run things without plunging the country into financial ruin I'd vote for him but I don't. Even without the Alberta crazies in his party he's still dangerous. The man stands for nothing other than his desire for power and he'll make a deal with anyone to get it. If you think he's not a corrupt thief like the rest of them you're delusional. Until the conservatives become a real party with a real leader they won't get any rational voters to choose them.
The trick is to not let any of them serve more then one term, so none of them can get the pension.

I am going to vote for a different party, even if they don't get in. At least the $1.75 that my vote is worth, will go to the party I that most closely reflects my goals and values.
