Only the Cooker can wipe out the one defenseman that has Brian Leetch hockey sense in him. I would DVR Sens games just for Erik Karlsson. Dirty or not? I never played hockey so no clue.

Some guys use that move so the guy is trapped against the wall. It is legal except it can cut the Achilles tendon in Karlsson's case. Even though Matt Cooke is not getting punished by the league, he is a marked man now. I can't wait to watch the next game between Penguins and Senators!

right behind you!
Honda,

It's just bad luck, if anyone think's it was not it' has more to do with his the name (Cooke) if a average player had done that..... nobody would think it was dirty... I played many years of competitve hockey, when you go in the corners, you have to expect to get hit, when your the hitter, you don't want to miss your mark.... your going to angle yourself accordingly...., and you want to pin your mark to the bords, so he doesn't slip by, so you use your legs to pin your mark, also helps prevent your mark from getting a stride, and away fast, these hits happen in every hockey game.

The only point of discussion with the hit, is the ending, when Cooke put his skate down.... now that would be hard for cooke to plan when to put his foot down, and how hard to hit, as the angle and equipment come into consideration also. No chance Cooke did it on purpose. Dam I miss playing hockey, and going into the corners....... (I love the rough stuff!!)

When Cooke was here everyone loved him since he did a great job at getting under the other teams better player's skin. He was our designated asshole. Now he has moved on he is now one of dirtiest players in the league?

He may have slowed down a bit but is still 'noticeable' on the ice. Who can say if it was intentional or not? Its a typical move used to tie up the other players legs and get control of the puck. He may have the mentality to injure other players but hopefully this is not the case.

but i cannot wait for his day and it will come that they drag his bleeding piece of shit body off the ice.

go to youtube&type in Evander Kane and Matt Cooke.

Kane scores a one-punch KO...they brought out a stretcher but Cooke managed to skate off
with some help.

I don't know how to post the link, but I hope it's still there.

enjoy

Meh, EK is just a poor man's Justin Schultz.:D
That's a funny joke!

In all seriousness, it was a COMPLETE accident. I don't think any person who has played sports would be brutal enough to cut someone's Achilles - just hyperextending it can prevent you from walking normally for weeks. Watching the replay, it was just fluke that his skate blade hit the back of Karlsson's ankle.

Could've been prevented by kevlar socks and/or taping the high ankle.
