Hey, I thought I would ask a question of this group, is or has anyone ever taken any testosterone supplements, I have been considering trying ultra T gold, not really for any specific reason, but I am mid 40's and things are slowing down, I am on a renewed kick to get into shape and if it could improve my energy levels and stamina as it suggests that would be awesome.

I'd appreciate any constructive feedback or experience you may have.

If you think you are low in T, go see a doc and get a blood test done. It will save you a lot of money on all those bs test boosters.

I got mine done and ... sure enough it was low. Now I'm on "the juice". lol

From what I hear this should be the best and most effective way to go. Isn't it a weekly shot?

Is it free or is there some cost to the shots?

It is a shot every 2 weeks. It's free for me because of my insurance through work. It isn't expensive if you have to pay

It's called nature- a decrease in T is the natural order of things. Staying healthy, eating right etc. helps to prolong things but in the end it has to happen. A man ages out of his prime 'breeding' years....too fuckin' bad. The underlying reason for entering such treatment is simply vanity. T treatment is complex and the long term affects can be risky. Are you willing to risk other ailments/diseases just so you can feel more manly?

Aren't guys like Randy Couture, Sylvester Stallone, Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort all on TRT? I hear it does make men feel better, it's just a matter of doing it properly rather than juicing up on it and making your system shut down on producing testosterone early isn't it?

And is it really a matter of messing too much with nature or is it more along the lines of the next step in the evolution of medical treatment in prolonging health?

Test treatment is very common for aging males and there isn't a lot of evidence that this treatment under a professional's care (ie. a guy isn't jacking himself up on tanker loads of the stuff) isn't anything but beneficial to them and can make the difference between a person feeling "dead" versus having close to their normal energy levels they've been used to their entire lives.

People age differently. Some look like crap at 45 and others look great...so what does it mean to let nature take its course. Plenty of exercise and healthy eating will naturally increase T levels. I say too fuckin bad for the guy who eats fast food daily, drinks every night and smokes a pack a day. There is no legitimate quick fix that won't cause other issues.

Take zinc, left heavy weights, do cardio and eat healthy...simple but so difficult.

I have met quite a few guys on testosterone replacement after testing very low for testosterone and thyroid.

Andropause is the new term for the midlife downturn in a man's energy/libido/mental acuity.

Testosterone is very important in preventing osteoarthritis and heart disease. It also prevents skin from thinning as it ages...you know how older folks develop tears in their skin easily from simple things like wearing glasses?

I am on bio-identical testosterone cream, as, it is also very important for women, although in smaller doses than what men need. I found a huge improvement in mental acuity, physical stamina, libido (had to cut back a bit:)) and muscle definition, although not like body builders or anything...I take estrogen/progesterone cream and without testosterone I lose muscle tone, despite working out, as those female hormones are about packing on the fat.

Bio-identical creams are reliable and fairly cheap. They are made in compounding pharmacies.

The only drawback from testosterone is acne, hair loss and whisker growth (and Dad never taught me to shave) which can be alleviated by lowering the dose.

The most amazing thing I felt after only two weeks of taking it was a renewed sense of 'self' and purpose.

Exactly. My low T started in my 30s. I couldn't make it through a day without having to have a nap in the afternoon. I was
tired all the time, my mood was low, and I was losing height due to bone loss.... not to mention loss of ability in the bedroom.
At the time, the docs said it was depression. The antidepressant meds made some difference in my mood so I went on with it until my 40s. It was then that they actually tested my T. I was so low that I was at the very bottom of the scale.
Since then I have been receiving medication and it has made a huge difference in the quality of my life.

Testosterone is not a vanity thing for someone who has a legitimate deficiency. Low T puts you at risk for lots of other health problems if not treated:
End stage renal (kidney)disease
Moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a lung disease
Infertility
Osteoporosis
Type 2 Diabetes

I get an annual blood test from my Dr. Each time I get them to put the PSA test, HDL/LDL/Triglycerides, and testosterone readouts. I pay a bit extra for these tests but my insurance covers all of them. So far supplements are not suggested for me but I asked if they were covered under my plan and they responded positively.

I would strongly suggest going through your MD to get a prescription rather than playing around with other methods of increasing your testosterone levels. Just my opinion, I am sure there are many here who have tried stuff suggested to them from a vitamin store etc. I figure an MD would know a bit more about testosterone vs a store clerk who would love to sell you a jar of something that costs $100+ etc.

There are test boosters that are about 40% of what a shot from the doc can do . Before the doctor and shots it may be wise to look through your lifestyle how you cope with stress and what kinds of physical activity if any you are doing .

Nutrition is 80% of how we feel and how good our body looks . As we age we must adopt a more disciplined form of food intake and be willing to gain weight or lose weight in order to find a way the body can use food to stimulate a sluggish testosterone situation . Most hormones are released through the gut . If we do not eat enough fibre or we have adopted a less than optimal junk food , fast food , high in fat food , drugs and alcohol all these things and more will slow down the body's ability to produce that hormone . Of course it's age , but i believe we must first become accountable and honest with ourselves have we done everything in our power to correct this problem and if the answer is yes then a medical intervention is a good solution .
Never accept a barrier as a reason not to achieve your dreams . You can the minute you believe it .

^ Abnormal testosterone levels notwithstanding, this is my take on it as well. You gotta ask yourself if you're doing the right things otherwise the creams and shots are mostly wasted due to our bad own habits.
