Well I have been thinking about it along time and have decided to get a tattoo done.
I have a pretty good idea of what. I need to know or find a real good place to get them. There are a few downtown I have gone past ,but never in.
What kind of prices am I looking at? Does it take a long time?
Thank you.

There's a great tatoo artist downtown, a block west of the Elbow Room café. He's a big guy with long hair and a beard, who looks like a biker, and he does excellent work.

Good for you Ironhead. It took me a long time to decide what I wanted and where to put it, finally designed my own and wish I had done it years ago.

This could be an interesting poll, to see how many of the PERBerts got ink.

Art Godoy Funhouse tattoo's on West Broadway......unbelievable work....a real detail freak....uses a high quality ink that really holds it's color over time.....super clean....a class act

As far as time goes......depends on what your getting the tattoo's on my arms took 6 hrs. on the left and about 8 hrs on the right because of the detail and the size about 10-11" long that wrap around the top of my bicep and the tricep on the bottom after awhile your arm goes numb you don't really feel it.

The one on my back probably 3 hrs.....and I felt that one.....oh well pain goes away. I luv good ink so check him out, him and his twin brother are world renowned

That's Thomas Lockhart of West Coast Tattoo (I know him through a friend). I think he was second or third in the world's best tattoo artist competition a few years back. He's probably the most experienced tattoo artist in Vancouver.
Yes, Tomcruise, thanks. You're right. Thomas Lockhart did mine and also several other folks I know, and I recommend him highly.

I had mine done at Sacred Heart on Alma. Clean place and the artists there are awesome. Go to the place you're interested in and ask them to show you around.

Just one advise...

Tattoos are easy to put on, BUT it is hard to take off ...and it depends on what kind of jobs you are doing.., some employers would judge on your tattoos..

my 2 cents

Had a custom one done at Mum's Tattoos several years ago. (Check my avatar...its called Golden Kabala. Check the net for a pic if you want a better look) The cost worked our to about 100 bucks an hour if memory serves me. As for the time it takes, that depends on the size and intricacy of your choice. Mine took over 6 hours spanning two different sessions. It's about 6" x 6".
