Last wed I saw a well known sp and I did daty. Two days later on inside of my lips I got a tiny chancre and has stayed that size since. Last night I got really sweaty and hot when I slept which I can't say was a fever thing jus uncomfortable. Is it possible for syphillis to show up so quickly?

The chancre is pink around the edge and the center is a very white spot, probably 3mm in diameter

Hi palmmaster

It is hard to say without being able to see the sore as well as do some tests. What I can do is give you some suggestions on what to do next.

We generally say that a primary syphilis sore (chancre) will show up in 9-90 days after someone gets syphilis. Typically it is around the 3 week mark and the earliest time frame I have been able to find is 3 days. Given this time frame it is unlikely you got syphilis from 2 days ago.

I don’t know what your full sexual history is, but it is common for people who come to the clinic with symptoms to think the STI came from the person they last had sex with. As some incubation periods (time from getting infection to symptoms) can be long, this may not be the case.

I would suggest a visit to the STI clinic or see a doctor for an exam and some tests. There are several things that it could be that are not STI related e.g. canker sore. I would not be concerned about the “sweaty and hot” type symptoms, especially if something is on your mind.

Thanks health nurse. It's started to fade to almost nothing today so I'm sure it is nothing but I should always double check because there maybe no symptoms, especially with that other thread with double the rate in Alberta.

Prior to this I have not had any intercourse since my last clinic visit which was in march so if anything does happen it would be from this lady.
