I like watching this show on the OLN network. For those of you who aren't familiar, this guy gets dropped off in some remote locale for seven days and has to film his attempts to survive. Now, I know we all do what we have to to survive, but I've seen this guy eat bugs, snakes, and worst of all the raw eyeballs from a seal. I'd eat the bugs and snakes, but the fuckin seal eyeballs? I'm not sure about that. maybe if they were cooked???

I watch number of his programs

here is a link you can read about it:

http://outside.away.com/outside/features/200510/les-stroud.html

and yes... seal eyeballs are considered delicacy.

In my late teen years.. I did a number of survival courses .... and this guy looks as real as it gets. I'm sure that they prep him well with info before each episod.... but even that.

I still have pictures from some places we were left .... but I was never alone .. the group was usually 3 people ... just for safety.

Maybe to the Inuit, truthfully, would you eat raw seal eyeballs? I'm of Mohawk descent. My people used to torture and then eat the bodies of enemies to ingest their courage and power. Yet, I wouldn't do it now, even to survive :)

you have to eat ... and when you are out ... you have to eat BEFORE you will be too weak to eat ... or ... something will eat you.

Simple ;)

I watched it once and I thought of Survivor the reality series, in the sense that it isn't easy starting a fire.

Good point, who the fuck could start a fire without a Bic lighter? :D When i go camping I need a Bic lighter, newspaper, and lighter fluid. :D Same for everyone else I know. Survivorman gets one started with a bullet he's converted!!

Not much to find in the desert for that purpose, but I remember one of his tips when he was in the jungle. He would take different types of leaves and wipe them on his arm. If there was no allergic reaction then he could use them for toilet paper! :D

I enjoy the show as well. Anyone know if there's going to be any new episode's anytime soon. I'm kinda getting sick of watching the same reruns over and over.

Very interesting show. It would be interesting to put Survivorman on Survivor and watch him kick butt. Compared to the situations he's been put in, Survivor would be like a luxury holiday.

Abbotsford.
fantastic show. i have learned quite a bit from his shows and i concidered myself a outdoorsman, lmao. i guess not eh. the simple fact that almost all of his movement shots are done twice is what gets me. he has to set up, then walk quite a distance, then go back for the rest of the camera gear. i did notice thou on the credits that one of the sponsers is globalstar, which is a satelite phone provider, so i know he does have a sure fire way out if he were ever to get into trouble. i wish also there were some new episodes as the re-runs are getting stale. i laugh, surviver would be like a holiday for les, lol. happy pooning

Survivorman Naked :D

One day I turn to the station and there was Survivorman, in his naked glory...under a water fall -- thank you THAT WAS HOT  :p I don't think he realized just how clear that water really was! Ever since then I loved Survivorman...can't live without him now :D

I think my favorite episode was when he went to Costa Rica (I think Costa Rica?). Anyway, he was on the beautiful coast eating coconuts and doin fine, but then chose to go into the jungle in hopes of finding a trail to civilization. He ends up spending the night in the jungle without a fire and surrounded by huge tarantulas and other nasty bugs. Of course he didn't sleep at all, and I think it's the first time I truly saw fear in his eyes. Talk about regretting a decision!! Man I laugh when I think about his turmoil! (yes this is sick) Poor bastard, what could be worse than that! :)

Actually I think he was pretty nervous on his artic show as well, especially when he saw how close those polar bear tracks were to where he had been sleeping.
